According to ballot laws you need to pay or gather signatures to get on all 50 state ballots. Even party nominees must fulfill these laws.

What id like to know however does not pertain to the requirements to get on the ballot, but if there is a law that says only 1 person from each party can be on the ballot?

What I am thinking is, 3rd party run is not going to happen, but if Republicans see 2 names are on the ballot, then rank and file republicans would be able to vote with the party, but still have a choice.

They didn't vote for Ron the last time two names were on a ballot.

Ron Paul was not on the ballot as a republican in 2008 or 1988. What are you referring to?
