Support for Ron Paul in the proposed state of Jefferson, Part 3

This is Part 3 of a 3 part series. See Part 1 (http://www.ronpaulforums.com/showthread.php?377064-Ron-Paul-support-in-Jefferson-Part-1) and Part 2 (http://www.ronpaulforums.com/showthread.php?379722-Support-for-Ron-Paul-in-proposed-state-of-Jefferson-Part-2).

Jefferson is a proposed state which combines part of Northern California with a small part of Oregon. I will not go into the details, as you likely know them. If not, here are a couple good sources http://www.jeffersonstate.com/ and http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jefferson_%28Pacific_state%29.

I produced this series to show the level of support for Ron Paul in Jefferson.

There is about the same amount of support for Ron Paul in Jefferson as there is in CA, OR or the US as a whole. However, there is more support for Ron Paul on the West Coast or in the Pacific Northwest than there is in Jefferson.

Ron Paul support in the Pacific Northwest 20%
Ron Paul support on the West Coast 18%
Ron Paul support in Oregon 12.8%
Ron Paul support in US 11%
Ron Paul support in California 10.2%

Ron Paul support in 4 county version of Jefferson in OR 12.8%
Ron Paul support in 1 county version (Curry County) of Jefferson in OR 12.5%
Ron Paul support in 7 county version of Jefferson in OR 12.1%
Ron Paul support in 12 county version of Jefferson in CA 11.3%
Ron Paul support in 3 county version of Jefferson in CA 10%

Ron Paul support in the most minimal version of Jefferson (1 country from OR and 3 counties from CA) 10.6%
Ron Paul support in the largest version of Jefferson (7 counties in OR and 12 counties in CA) 11.6%

Note: The series did not attempt to measure some of the related factors, such as comparing primaries to caucuses or the dates of the various primaries and caucuses.

But we would do very well in the proposed Eastern Washington/Northern Idaho state:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lincoln_%28Northwest_state%29#Lincoln_in_the_North west
http://spovangelist.com/for-the-love-of-lincoln/

Draw the new border a little further east than the Wikipedia map shows, and Ron Paul would have won such a state. It does need a better name than Lincoln, and I came up with some proposals here (http://www.ronpaulforums.com/showthread.php?364686-Washington-Caucus-Results-Thread&p=4243921&viewfull=1#post4243921).

Even in 2008 we did well in East Wash/North Idaho:

Agreed. You could call it Cascade (the mountain range), Columbia (the river basin that covers most of the proposed area), Evergreen, Kalispel (one of the major indian tribes whose territory this was), Kaniksu (the Kalispel's name for their territory), Firerock, Firetable, or just Lava (the Columbia basin is part of the largest lava plateau in the world).

Edit: Or how about Ponderosa, the dominant tree species, or in that same vein, Needle (Ponderosas have the longest needles)? Steppe (shrubsteppe is the dominant ecology, but doesn't sound great, no one wants to be a shrub). Methow is a tribe name and the place name too, meaning sunflower seeds. In Sahaptin (a dominant Indian language group in the region), Pakinkash means "place of the barrier," which I like -- a barrier to tyranny! It also sounds like "Packin' cash". K'áax is flat land (plateau), and Kaax is a pretty cool sounding name.

Washington already calls itself "the evergreen State" but I like Poderosa, and Methow. It's nice country in the Methow Valley.

But then again I can hear the "Meth State" jokes already.............
