I claim NO graphical capabilities, but I was getting tired of not having a background I could promote Ron Paul with so, I made one.

Feel free to use it. Here is a small version to preview and links to the JPG, BMP, and PNG versions:

Thanks guys. I am sure someone has probably made one but I didn't have much luck finding one. Any ways, anything for the cause!

If you get one more person to ask you about Ron Paul then it was worth it!

This is the kind of thing that made me concerned after seeing the youtube in this post (http://www.ronpaulforums.com/showthread.php?t=34799).

What does this background have to do with the message of liberty? Looks like worshiping the man rather than the idea. Very, very troubling.

Honestly, it's just suppose to be a "cool background." If you want to make an issue out of nothing that is your prerogative.

Ok, if that was your intention, good luck with it. I do think it's important to be wary of crossing that line into worshiping the man, rather than the idea, and the trend on this board in the last two months or so has been disturbing in this regard. That said, it does look good...

Korey,

Take a look at the original post, I added the new sizes and PNG format as well.

Thanks,

I can appreciate your point of view on this. I have noticed some people become pretty fanatical about "Ron Paul" and not as much about the message, which I agree is a shame. Lets be honest, Ron Paul is just a messenger boy carrying an OLD message. No offense to Ron Paul but he does not have the social charisma to sell just on a wink and smile, but he does have a message that resonates with a lot of people.

When I first made the graphic, it was just the constitution without the image of Ron Paul. I decided to add it since most advertisements don't use his picture enough to give him the visual recognition he needs to get. Unfortunately, the reason why the top tier candidates are who they are is just purely "brand recognition" and nothing really to do with their beliefs or message.

Just some thoughts.

nice !!!
could you release a 1680x1050 (widescreen) version where the pages of the constitution do not overlap ? :)

IMO it's just as much the man as the message. If Dr Paul hadnt been backing up his talk for the past 30 yrs, i suspect there'd be a HELLUVA lot less people ready to almost go broke to support his candidacy. We've seen it time and time again unfortunately, where people will say what they think you want to hear, but when you look into their past voting records "the proof is in the pudding". Look at all these people trying to steal Dr Paul's talking points, sure it pisses us off, but in the end it's all hot air. they have no intention on following up on their pandering. Which you can see in Mike Huckabee, this is why he has no fundraising and no grassroots efforts. (well at least nowhere near Dr Paul's)

Your right, there are some fanatical supporters, but I think you guys are too quick to throw that label out there over a desktop picture.

Good thoughts belian78. Speaking of 30 years of track record, I am currently reading his book. It is amazing to see his wisdom on the Middle East 30 years ago! Can you say, "I told you so?"!

But it's not the man, in the fact that ANYONE could have integrity and speak the same message. The rarity of it all comes from the fact that a POLITICIAN is doing. That's fine, but he's still a damn politician. I agree, he's become popular because of his integrity, but has our society collapsed so much that a man is WORSHIPED for simply being honest?

The fact is, he's an honest man with a solid message. That doesn't deserve the worshipfulness that I too often see on this board. It absolutely deserves respect, but be careful that respect does not cross into worship, as worship is dangerous because it allows us to believe in fantasies which can hurt us...
