AVALON, Pa. (AP) — Dirty clothes have a Pittsburgh-area police officer in hot water.

Rankin police Officer Jason Rocco is charged with trespassing and criminal mischief for allegedly breaking into a neighbor's home to wash his clothes.

Rocco was arraigned Saturday and released on his own recognizance.

WPXI-TV (http://bit.ly/L6xvKc ) reports the home's owner noticed his electric bill was unusually high, given that he hadn't lived in the house for months. When the owner visited, investigators say he found the dryer running with Rocco's clothes inside.

Avalon police who questioned Rocco say he told investigators the home's back door was already broken and he "just had to do some laundry."

A phone listing for Rocco could not be located Wednesday. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Thursday.

He was knowingly stealing money from them by pushing the bill onto them. He had to be fully aware of what he was doing, because if the person was no longer paying for electricity there, it would be shut off.

I totally agree. He was released on his own recognizance? WTH? If we did this we would have bail set at $250.000. :rolleyes:

Look at it this way: if the cop had been at the house and shot the owner when he discovered the laundry, the cop would have gone free without charges and still working fulltime.

Yeah Donnay , I was being a bit of a wise ass , but it is Pennsylvania , and they very well could use this to build more govt arms , snatch a few children , put a few more union members on the payroll , vote for a few more dead people in Philly , raise a few taxes , this is the norm there .... it is the new California , Illinois , New Jersey , New York...

what really strange about this is it is a 30 min drive from where this guy is a cop to where this happened . on opposite sides of Pittsburgh . :confused:
