With the landslide victory for Santorum at the Missouri Congressional District convention it proved we simply don't support Mitt Romney. If Ron Paul were to appear at the Missouri state GOP convention next weekend, it could help sway many to support a candidate that's still very much in the race. There is nothing on his events page and I'm positive he's been sent an invite. That said, what would it take to convince Ron Paul to show up at the Missouri convention?

As a Missouri alternate who will be at the state convention, we need this to happen.

Yeah, I'm a delegate & have seen talk on our local facebook page, but haven't heard much outside of there. I've been thinking about sending Pam a message, but hate to pester her if she's already got it covered.

sailing, do you have a link?

I don't, because I don't really use facebook (I have Ron's that's about it) but I would think you could search her easily enough in facebook.

Yup, done that. ;) BUT, I'm just one person and he's not going to show up from one suggestion...

She's only accepted 659 people as friends and her page is private, so posting on her wall is restricted. :(

that would be pretty cool.

Seems like the best surefire way to make sure every possible Paul supporter shows up. I endorse this idea.

This might ensure a Missouri victory....

Doesn't he have to be invited by the convention, though? I mean, perching on a car roof in the parking lot isn't all that helpful...

The OP stated that he is positive that Paul has been invited. I don't know if thats true, but it is what it is.

forgot that part. Well, if it is an official invitation I would expect him to show up, to be honest.

Considering that we're supposed to have a "delegate strategy", Ron Paul showing up at all the remaining state conventions should not be too much to ask from the campaign.

The mere appearance of Ron at those conventions will help ensure delegates, alternates and guests show up to make the votes we need.

Simple, relatively low cost strategy. The $845k we just raised should be more than enough to pay for those trips.

agreed, bump for importance. Attending all the conventions should be one of his top priorities

Thing is, there are multiple conventions per weekend. Strictly rethorically speaking; Which ones are priorities?

I'm not certain the invite came from the MOGOP. In fact, I'd be SHOCKED if that were the case. I'm assuming local campaigns have put the invitation out via official channels...

but if the MOGOP doesn't invite him.... he really can't just show up. I mean, he can't just take their mic.

Some conventions are spread over two days and he can always do his speech on Friday night.

Isn't that exactly what Santorum did in St. Louis area caucus'? Billy Long did it at the CD7 convention...

Cookies.

It would take chocolate chip cookies. They are Ron's favorite.

but the party LIKED them.....

I'm all for him going, but you may need a motion to allow him to speak or something.

LOL Well I'm quite certain THAT would be seconded. I can't imagine them not allowing him to speak if he came. He IS a presidential candidate...

It happened in Minnesota in 2008. He had to speak to his delegates outside in the rain.

Well that's just not what I'd expect from Missourians. In my experience hospitality is kind of taken for granted here in Springfield. Maybe I'm being naive, but...

I think it would be great if he went. But I think he has been asked to the other places he has gone.

I like the cookie idea, how many cookies would it take to lay a trail to Missouri from Lake Jackson

I like the cookie idea, how many cookies would it take to lay a trail to Missouri from Lake Jackson

The Average medium sized cookie is 2 1/4 inches across. It's 706 miles from Ron Paul's home in Lake Jackson to the University Plaza Convention Center in Springfield, MO. That's 44,732,160 inches, divided by 2.25 equals 17,892,864 cookies. NESTLÉ® TOLL HOUSE® Chocolate Chip Cookies take 10 minutes to cook. An average cookie sheet is 17 x 13 and an average oven can hold two at a time. That's 70 per 10 minute batch. This makes 255,612 batches which would take 42,602 hours to cook. Divide that among approximately 650 Missouri Ron Paul delegates and we have 393.25 batches each or 65.5 hours worth of baking. There are 7 days or 168 hours left. PLENTY of time!!! :p
