Ten Michigan guardsmen were injured in an attack in Afghanistan -- including one from Ludington who lost both his arms.
The injured soldier is Spec. Eric Lund, 20. After initial emergency treatment, he was taken to a hospital in Germany.
Lund is a member of the 1-126th Cavalry National Guard unit out of Dowagiac. Two homemade roadside bombs -- referred to as improvised explosive devices or IEDs -- that hit the unit's convoy as it traveled through Northern Afghanistan.
