Indoctrinate the World: Gates Foundation Hijacks Education Policy

Foundations have always enjoyed a cozy relationship with government, but the Gates Foundation has taken the game to a whole other level. In the past tax exempt foundation influence was more subtle and hush hush; Now they are openly acting as extensions of government.

President Barack Obama has recruited at least four high-ranking officials from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.

The Gates Foundation has reached its tentacles into every significant venture it can find. Genetic engineering, vaccines, and education are just a few examples. Every aspect of our lives has been in some way impacted by Foundation influence. In a previous article, Old-Thinker News exposed the campaign of tax exempt foundations – specifically the Gates and Rockefeller philanthropies – to vaccinate the world.

The education system in the United States has been influenced since its very beginning by tax-exempt foundations. The Rockefeller Foundation’s influence in education was exposed by the Reece Committee in 1954. Today, the major operations in education policy are coming from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. A hidden hand of control outside of elected representatives is setting the agenda for the education of the country.

To demonstrate the intimate relationship that the Gates Foundation has with the Obama administration, this 2009 article points out that “President Barack Obama has been in office less than four months, but already his administration has recruited at least four high-ranking officials from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation…” Gates Foundation operatives were quickly put to work implementing foundation policies in education. Given its massive influence, Michael Petrilli, Vice President of the Fordham Institute, has declared “It is not unfair to say that the Gates Foundation’s agenda has become the country’s agenda in education…”

While the Gates Foundation has significantly influenced K-12 education, college institutions have also been hooked in with foundation money. One study on foundation influence found,

“The dramatic shift in how major foundations work in education has been much noted at the K-12 level, but it is relatively little discussed in higher education– arguably because so many of the analysts, scholars and campus officials who might typically weigh in on the subject benefit from the two foundations’ largesse in one way or another and may be reluctant to bite the hand that feeds them.”

A recent article from the California Teachers Association pointed out the significant influence of the Gates Foundation in “reforming” the school system. As the article explains, the funding from these groups comes with strings attached that demand more “…top-down, authoritarian style…” administration and more standardized testing.

The Gates Foundation’s agenda for education is essentially this; Maintain the foundation controlled system as it has always been while claiming to “reform” it. Modern schooling was designed from the beginning to act as a social sorting mechanism to keep free thinking individuals at bay and allow rule followers to rise to the top. This was the “Great Sorting” of American society initiated by the captains of industry – who were also eugenicists. The Rockefeller founded General Education Board summarized this agenda in 1902, stating,

“In our dreams…people yield themselves with perfect docility to our molding hands. We shall not try to make these people or any of their children into philosophers or men of learning or men of science. We have not to raise up from among them authors, educators, poets or men of letters. We shall not search for embryo great artists, painters, musicians, nor lawyers, doctors, preachers, politicians, statesmen, of whom we have ample supply.”

“Reform” that comes from a foundation so closely tied to the establishment cannot be expected to produce substantial change or deviation from the present system. The flowering of human potential that might explode should the dead weight of the current system be removed may prove too much for the elite to handle.
