Attorneys representing grassroots supporters of presidential candidate Ron Paul delivered a letter to state Republican officials Tuesday challenging the results of this month’s GOP state convention, saying a session held outdoors afterward in which supporters of the Texas congressman swept all delegate spots to the national convention should be allowed.

“We’re simply asking for the rules to be followed,” stated Lukus Collins, grassroots organizer for Paul’s campaign in Oklahoma and elected a delegate during the outdoor convention. “This is not a grudge match. This is a black-and-white issue. State party rules, as well as the convention rules, clearly require a roll-call vote by ballot for the election of national delegates, and that didn’t happen inside at the state convention.”

Good, now why isn't the campaign doing that too?

The Paul supporters submitted their own slate of delegates and alternates, but failed to get enough votes to amend convention rules to let delegates vote on both slates. A paper ballot vote showed that 60 percent of the delegates supported the state party’s slate.

What do they mean by 'paper ballot'?

Who cares. The campaign isn't driving this election season. They have their reasons for their actions, we have ours. Complaining about the campaign does little good.

I sure hope they sent a copy of the challenge TO THE CAMPAIGN which clearly still has no clue what happened there.

I wonder how they are affording the attorney fees? I had the impression a Money Bomb would be essential to make this happen.

Called the legal firm representing the Oklahoma delegates to see if any kind of legal defense fund had been set up ... waiting to here back. If so, will post the details for anyone else who may want to support this.

There was no paper ballot vote taken on the state party's slate. That is complete misinformation. There was a paper ballot vote on the rules amendment on how to vote for the slate. But, the slate was voted on via a voice and standing vote, which is directly against start party rules. I wish this news article would've actually covered this better, as that is a big misinformation.

I am one of the state delegates who was at the OK State Convention and know full well all the details of this.

because the Campaign is being realistic and probably wants to work the party from the inside instead of going to war.

maybe doing a deal with Romney.

on the other hand, RP supporters are an asset to Ron Paul because they can keep the pressure without compromising RP himself.
