View Full Version : Can we get Ron Paul to toss out a first pitch at a Rangers game?

Nolan Ryan once endorsed Ron Paul and that makes Ron Paul the best home run hitter in the capital. I'm not proposing this as a priority, it could be a good and fun boost for various reasons.

Texas Primary is on Tuesday May 29th
and the Texas Rangers play at home
vs Blue Jays
2:05 pm
on Saturday and Sunday May 26 & 27.

It couldn't hurt to try to get him invited.
http://texas.rangers.mlb.com/help/index.jsp?c_id=tex : this is a good place to contact media relations.
I'm going to forward the idea to the campaign so they could offer feedback.

Nolan Ryan's twitter is @Rangers Nolan , I'm gonna tweet him about it.

And Chuck Norris would either loose his head to high heat fastballs or cry for mercy when he gets a bear trap headlock with multiple knuckle sandwiches from the great athlete and intelligent individual Nolan Ryan, nuff said.

For Liberty,
Maximilian

He was an outfielder, not a pitcher. This idea doesn't fit.

Are you implying that Ron Paul as an outfielder is not capable of throwing a pitch from the mound? To be kind and say the least you underestimate Ron Paul's athletic abilities .

Except if you're a baseball player, it makes perfect sense.

Ron Has had some work done on his hip an knees so It might be hard for him to get the ball across home plate. That being said, this is Ron Paul, I am sure he will be fine.

Notable people throw out a ceremonial first pitch all the time...they don't have to be a pitcher. Ron may be a little old for it though, and he might not even want to do it. But if he's into I think it would be great.

Ron Paul should pitch the entire game! And play outfield. At the same time :)

LOL.

I'm an A's fan, so I have another issue with this. Mainly, I hate Nolan Ryan. ;)

I like it... more public appearances across the board that the msm is already covering. first pitches, speeches at graduations, guest appearances at concerts... the more odd ball media friendly events we can put Ron at, the better.

Umm, no.

Pat Burrell just threw out a ceremonial first pitch for the Phillies, and for the better part of the decade he was their left fielder.

Whatever happens, there's no way Ron could do worse than Cincinnati mayor Mark Mallory.

You could make him the second Designated Runner other than Herb Washington from the Oakland A's back in the early 70's who ran a 60 yard dash in 5.9 seconds. Ron Paul was fast as well running the 100 yard dash in 9.7 seconds.

The heck with tossing out the first pitch. Let's get him in the rotation. Paul is known as one of the best "long ball hitters" in the House Of Representatives. So he could probably DH as well.

First pitches can also be used to rally the masses to give up their civil liberties:

I can't imagine that RP would agree to participate in such an event. Any intelligent person knows that the American League plays a corrupted and inferior form of baseball.

Ron is the real deal....thus, he would only appear in a National League event.
