So we lost this? Why? I would have thought we would have pwned this.

@RachelSB
The decisions on National Committee man and woman are done by a different group of activists than those at the GOP state convention.

The State Central Committee meeting started around 5:45 pm, which was probably hours after the State Convention ended. Many people were probably unaware of the meeting or didn't realize that the National Committee positions were up for election at the meeting.

It was another $75 registration and it was held in a separate convention and we were not aware that one of e agendas are to elect these positions. Most of our people left after the State Convention.

The new elected chairwoman won't hold office until after the RNC in Tampa.

National Committeman and Committewoman are not elected by the regular state convention. They are elected by the state central committee, a much smaller group of people. About 75% of these poeple are still old guard.

The state central committee voted Pat Anderson out of her position because they were angry about losing.

Next year we will take control of state central, too. We'll make sure to make it up to Pat, we are all sorry that she won't get to go to Tampa.

But we let Bachman go to Tampa. This is why we should not give ONE inch. They aren't.

Don't let the secret out, but we would have lost that vote in a 1 on 1 match.

Pat Anderson still goes to Tampa. The term JB was elected to does not begin until after Nats. And those who posted that Bachmann would have likely beaten Huizenga anyway are quite likely correct, our organized strength grew considerably after Iowa spanked Michele and she dropped. There were a considerable number of people voting our slate today that were and are fervent Bachmann supporters and that one on one secret ballot may very well have gone against us. But it was ultimately up to Don Huizenga if you believe in individual liberty, his choice to make, something to be respected even if it would never have been your own choice.

The people who get to vote for this are from previous Party elections, not this years.

Don't let the secret out, but we would have lost that vote in a 1 on 1 match.No, we wouldn't have. My estimations are that we had between a 53-55% voting strength of the Convention. It could've actually been slightly higher than that to be honest.

Wouldn't be bad to educate Bachmann in Tampa.

Wouldn't be bad to educate Bachmann in Tampa.Educating the politicians doesn't work. You have to get them to do what you want them to do by threatening them with defeat if they do otherwise. We just did that. Not to mention that if she is to get reelected next cycle, she will be forced to get approval from the liberty wing of the GOP (yes, in MN, we are the new "establishment" heh). She serves at our pleasure now which means you'll see a stark change in her voting record. She is quite aware of this I assure you of that.

We have a winner!
