Ron Paul Biographer: Campaign Shift is "Utter Idiocy" (http://www.slate.com/blogs/weigel/2012/05/15/ron_paul_biographer_campaign_shift_is_utter_idiocy _.html)

"I'm angry beyond belief," said Brian Doherty.

Me too.

"I can't think of any explanation that makes sense, so I assume some conspiratorial explanation I'm dreading the conversations I'm going to have with people next week," said Doherty. "They were announcing what they were already doing. Why did they make a big deal out of it? If it's not part of a secret deal with Romney, it's merely utter idiocy."
[...]
"He sort of did the same thing for a better reason in 2008," said Doherty, "but this is an extremely un-propitious time for me and my book -- and I would say, for him and his people, his followers. The news about Ron Paul today, if he hadn't done this, would have been that his supporters raised ruckuses in a number of conventions... the racking-up-of-delegates thing, which he'd been doing well with, had been the story about Ron Paul. They made the story about something else today. I wish they hadn't done it."

Me too.

It's not just about the book, but it's part of it. BD didn't just write it for himself, but for the movement.

It took me less than 5 minutes to figure out how this makes sense, given one very reliable assumption. The assumption is that Benton didn't wake up today and decide to become a loose cannon, or if he did, a correction would have come in by now.

I've already given the answer out elsewhere but I won't spoil it for those who want to guess on their own.

well suck it up and adjust. Make necessary changes instead of complain about it.

Boy, this is becoming a trend.. us, Tom Woods, Brian Doherty (he'll be on PBS tonight to talk Ron Paul). I always felt Jesse was an asshat, this almost leaves no doubt in my mind.

A carndinal sin in the perception game, too.

Thanks for taking the fous OFF of the conventions, Jesse Benton.
