In Kentucky’s Fourth District, Candidates Make Final Push for Votes

by KENNY COLSTON on MAY 15, 2012

With one week to go before Kentucky’s primary, the seven GOP candidates vying to replace Congressman Geoff Davis are making their final pitch for votes.

Gary Moore, Thomas Massie and Alecia Webb-Edgington are considered the frontrunners, based on endorsements and financial reports.

Massie has earned Senator Rand Paul’s endorsement, while Webb-Edgington’s supporters include Davis and former Senator Jim Bunning. Moore, however, leads in fundraising.

“We have more individual donors. And when you’re able to raise money more from inside Kentucky, not from a single donor from Texas, that shows that the people in the district believe in your message and in you as a candidate. Gary Moore has that advantage,” says Moore’s campaign manager Jonathan Duke.

Massie campaign chairman Phil Moffett says his candidate leads in internal polls and is not far behind Moore in fundraising.

“Well our fundraising compares very closely to his fundraising,” says Moffett. “We’re not concerned at all, we have enough money to execute the plan we have in place and I think we’ll be talking about Thomas Massie as the nominee on the 23.”

Kentucky’s primary is May 22.

Huge. The Ron Paul Revolution MUST MUST MUST elect libertarian-leaning candidates to office around the country or we have nothing to show for our progress.
