One was. I don't remember his name though. He was an older gentleman as I recall.

God, that article made me sadder than a news story has in a long time.

One of Dr. Paul's other sons or daughters should have run for this seat.

Can't let the seat that started it all fall to an establishment hack. Time for Ron to endorse someone.

What about Steve Stockman? I thought he was running for this seat. I remember him from the '90's as being more of a Pat Buchanan type of guy, but I read somewhere on the forums that he supports a lot of Ron's views.

That district elected him and re-elected him against all odds for years on end--let's do something. If it weren't for them, none of this would have happened.

“I think most people are ready for a younger voice” and “a fresh face,” she said. “Just look at me. I’m not Dr. Paul.” Harris said there is no shame in seeking federal money for the district — a break from the pork-hating Paul — particularly with so many ports to maintain.

What?

What?

Isn't that a positive? Unless... *Shock*... Tea Party people are.... HYPOCRITES?!

Wasn't there a guy on this forum running for this seat?

It discredits the entire article really, to have something that blatantly untrue written in it. Ron Paul has never been shy about liking earmarks, and is one of the top 'porkers' among the House GOP caucus.

He opposes the spending. That is not up for debate. So the idea that he favors earmarks is ridiculous.

He just thinks that if the money is going to be spent by the corrupt anyway, there is no harm in giving a small percentage back to the community it was taken from.

Big difference.

From the backwaters of RPF, where no one ever visits. George Harper is a long time member of RPF, and he is running in what was mostly Ron Paul's old District.

George, you out there?

Yep, he's running too. Slightly different District.

That's right, he is complicit in porkbarrel spending. Right or wrong, the article is wrong.

Not quite that simple, since he votes against it.

Harris says that there is no shame in seeking federal support for the district. Paul submits the requests, so he sees no shame in it either. So this is not "a break" from Ron Paul.
