View Full Version : Popular Unarmed Marine SGT. shot and killed by Orange County Sheriff Deputy

This is a story that has not received enough national attention. A little background information. This SGT often took his daughters to the local HS track early in the morning to workout before work as his daughter was trying out for the track team. A sheriff deputy was parked in the HS lot and witness the SGT drive in and strike a gated barrier leading to the football stadium. Whether him striking the barrier was an accident know one knows.

At first, the department said Sandberg fired out of concern for his own safety, but later said Sandberg —a former Marine — feared for the girls' safety. Loggins was unarmed.

Haha. Leave to AF to post on this first. The reason I posted it is that it happened less than a mile from me. I drove by the scene in the morning and saw all the police action and news helicopters.
