This Saturday (May 12), Virginia's 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 7th, and 8th congressional districts are being held. Each will send three national delegates and 3 alternates to the national convention. I can't find any details about where each one is being held and at what time, so hopefully those in Virginia already know or know how to find out.

I'm in the 7th and will be attending tomorrow. Ours is at the hilton in short pump (west end of richmond) and begins at 10am. We have 2 ron paul candidates running that im aware of but it will be tough. This is Eric Cantor's district, need I say more? If we get 1 elected Ill consider it a great day!

This thread is a little slow compared to the Oklahoma thread.

With all the analysis I did of the vote in VA, I believe the election was stolen from us. Ron should have won with a slight 50.5% advantage. (See my charts and discussions about VA on the various vote flipping threads, and here: http://s269.photobucket.com/albums/jj80/RonRules/Elections2012_Primaries_VA/

Anyway, it's time to rectify this through delegates for Ron Paul.

I went to the VA GOP website and found documents that may be useful regarding delegates:

General info about the various conventions and delegates:
http://www.rpv.org/sites/default/files/FCRC_Call_for_Canvass_-_PUBLIC_NOTICE_2012.pdf

Delegate application form:
http://www.rpv.org/sites/default/files/2012%20Richmond%20GOP%20Official%20Filing%20Form.p df

This meeting has just passed, but the info may be useful:
http://www.rpv.org/sites/default/files/HCRC%202012%20Canvass%20Call%20Final.pdf

Here's a great Google trick to find what you want on a specific website. Enter this in the search box:

site:www.rpv.org filetype: pdf

This will only search the Virginia GOP webstie for pdf files. There's lots and lots of them. You can also restrict the dates with advance search. I was looking for delegate lists that may have come up recently.

Not a word about Ron Paul to college Republicans:

http://www.rpv.org/node/1476
College Republicans: Youth Changes Direction in 2012
-- "We are not a focus group that can be won over with single-minded promises."--

College Republican Federation of Virginia President Michael Cogar issued the following statement regarding President Obama's visit to VCU.

"In 2008, President Obama captured the youth vote with promises of hope and change. It is now 2012, and we realize that hope and change simply panders to our generation's vote. But, the truth is that the youth unemployment is double the national average and we are becoming known as the 'boomerang generation'. This election cycle, we are going to vote for real change. We are going to vote for a President that gets our generation out of our parents' houses and back into the workforce.

"Our question to the President is this: Why are 1 in 2 recent college graduates unemployed or underemployed? For someone who was so concerned with our vote back in 2008, he certainly has an odd way of showing it. Obama's most recent attempt to garner the vote of our generation expounded upon the College Affordability Act. However, it is estimated that his proposals would save the average student less than $10 a month.

"We are not a focus group that can be won over with single-minded promises. We are dedicated Americans interested in a wide range of issues. Our call to you is this: Mr. President stop trying to win us over with handouts, please, show us some results."

I tried to see if Mitt was hiding on the Virginia Republican GOP website.

This is all I found:

Don't get frustrated. Some people are here, some on Daily Paul, some in the Meetups, some on Facebook. Others trade e-mail and then there are those who are totally incognito... The results this far from Virginia have been interesting though. Somebody must be organizing things to some degree. If not online, then last-minute at the conventions.

There was MASSIVE election fraud on Virginia.

Please make that convention correct these wrongs.

Good luck everyone. I hope several of you will give us regular update and preferably a live stream.

Thnks.

I attended CD2 today and there were tons of Paul supporters. And guess who showed up to speak... freaking Herman Cain!! And I'm 99% sure he showed up in a white stretch limo chrystler 300 with tinted windows. And then he starts talking about him meeting with Romney etc., and the crowd breaks into a chant "Ron Paul, Ron Paul, Ron Paul...." It was awesome. So anyways... we didn't even have to vote for national delegates or alternates because they apparently worked something out. We won at least 2/3 for national delegates and 2/3 for alternates. But, everyone that was approved by the campaign won. And then we had to vote for State Central Committee and Elector. And I'm not sure of those results because I didn't hang around for those votes to be counted because it was taking forever.

At least 2/3? You don't know about the third delegate?

I had received an email that showed me who to vote for. It listed 3 names. 2 of the names clearly stated that they supported Ron Paul. The third name did not say Ron Paul, but... his name was listed as someone for me vote for. So all 3 people that the campaign wanted to win...actually won. Just not sure about the one guy... Same deal with the alternates; 2/3 said Paul. But all 3 from email won.

3rd Congressional district was a complete sweep for Dr. Paul! Solid Ron Paul contingent was present, establishment was mostly polite, though there were a couple grumblers (notably the former chairman of the district who lost his seat).

The former chairman of the 3rd had been quoted in the press saying that Ron Paul should not be earning delegates there if he lost the rest of the state in the primary. He probably dug his own grave and tilted some regular GOPers away with that imperial attitude.

Please clarify. "Complete Sweep" means did we win all 3 of 3 available delegates AND all 3 of 3 available alternates?
