Yes, it's true. Here's an interview with the founder of Liberty Dollar today confirming it, linked from lewrockwell.com. It's also been in local media and other sources.

Jonathan Webb posted a thread title today claiming it was "bogus," then ran away and hasn't commented anymore since this interview with the founder of Liberty Dollar was posted.

You might expect a person who'd prominently misinformed the entire board to post "I was wrong" or something along those lines, but Jonathan's a 30-post noob, so whatever.

How many people's money was stolen by the IRS thugs? That ought to be worth a $100 donation on December 16th! If that is not tyranny I do not know what tyranny is!!!!

found this link - FBI confirms the rumors!

It was confirmed true by a conversation with a host of freetalk live with the president of the liberty dollar company. Yes, it is true. The federal government has stolen peoples hard earned dollars who have purchased liberty dollars and havent recieved them yet. They confiscated the gold, the reciepts, the computers with all the company information and customer databases and all records of any transactions with the company. Once again, the federal government is showing its true colors and more people are waking up to them every single day.

Thats about the only good thing to come from this.

Yah simply put it's true the FBI says they did it and all the jokers who denied it are proven wrong. This is very important to Ron Pauls cause. This grassroots isn't just about getting Paul elected it's about restoring liberty and the constitution.

So...the government stole a bunch of gold and silver...

to refill their squandered reserves, i'm guessing.

Isn't the warehouse in Idaho?
We don't know if they raided that.
```````````
I don't think the amount of gold and silver is enough to motivate the raid (~$20 Million-in any form-is a lot to us, but for the fed's it's very little)
The real motive, IMO, is to stop the competing currency before more people start using it.
Actually, take a look at the top of this page. This is grassroots support for Ron Paul's 2008 Presidential Campaign. If we stay focused on that, it will go a long way towards restoring liberty and the Constitution. If we get sidetracked, well, I don't even want to think about it.
