Defeating the establisment nominee for chairman has had a profound effect at precinct, county and state caucuses and conventions. It is, in itself, a show of strength. Also it is a bulwark against dirty tricks and corruption. In the matter of chair, all the problems of bound and unbound delegates are moot. Any Ron paul supporter can vote freely, as I understand it.
With this in mind, who would be a suitable candidate? Do they need to be a delegate to the convention (perhaps a superdelegate)?
I suggest that they would need to be respected by all factions of the Republican party, have strong liberty credentials and be willing to accept the nomination despite fact that it would be seen as an act of disloyalty by the party elite.
Any serving or former Govorners, Senators etc that might fit the bill?
