The Hunt County Sheriff's Department is among several agencies investigating the gruesome death of a rare white buffalo, born nearly a year ago on a ranch near Greenville.

The calf, considered sacred by some in the Native American community, was found killed and skinned along with its mother on the Lakota Ranch.

The non-albino white buffalo was named Lightning Medicine Cloud in a special ceremony last summer. The chance of a white buffalo birth is said to be 1 in 10 million.

According to the Greenville Herald Banner, officers with Texas Parks and Wildlife, and the Department of Homeland Security are also involved in the investigation.

There is no role here for homeland gestapo , the rancher and sheriff can take care of it . Obviously , they will have to figure it out in less time than it would take for this mans property , once skinned to be fleshed and tanned , because it will be destined , most likely for a huge sell outside the US .Probably inthe Orient . The brains are useful in preparing the hides .....

There is likely more than one person who stolethis mans property , because most men could not drag that hide ....
