By Lawrence Sinclair at Sinclair News

"In the past week RNC Chairman Reince Priebus has given conflicting statements over the course of just four days which has many Ron Paul supporters looking into if Chairman Priebus might have violated the law by announcing “it’s official, Mitt Romney is our nominee.” In an interview with CNN on April 21, 2012 Priebus told CNN’s Jessica Yellin the Republican party could not officially say the general election had begun until former speaker Newt Gingrich and Rep. Ron Paul had withdrawn from the race."

nice.

lol!

In response to Van Susteren’s direct question about Rep. Paul still seeking the GOP Nomination, and the fact that Rep. Paul has a huge support base, Priebus responded: Priebus: Romney has “very strong relationship” with Ron Paul

“A lot of credit has to go out to Governor Romney. I mean, he has built a very strong relationship with Congressman Paul. I think that’s been pretty well documented.
…. I’m not going to speak for Congressman Paul, but I will tell you this. I think that he has — his movement has been pleased with the fact that many of the issues that he’s been talking about have become mainstream issues in the Republican party.”

They have absolutely got to be kidding. We want a whole lot more than WORDS. That is why we support Ron Paul.

Yes. The public shaming campaign was successful. The RNC will likely have to stop diverting resources for Romney.

Wouldn't it ROCK if he had to resign over this?

We've come a long way though. It's only a little progress, but it is progress.

What rules and laws were broken

Rule 11 (They would need all 50 state written approval before its official)

(a) The Republican National Committee shall not, without the prior written and filed approval of all members of the Republican National Committee from
13 of 41
the state involved, contribute money or in-kind aid to any candidate for any public or party office except the nominee of the Republican Party or a candidate who is unopposed in the Republican primary after the filing deadline for that office. In those states where state law establishes a nonpartisan primary in which Republican candidates could participate, but in which the general election may not include a Republican candidate, the candidate endorsed by a convention held under the authority of the state Republican Party shall be recognized by the Republican National Committee as the Republican nominee

The only problem if the Paul campaign sued they would have to do it at each individual state and would cost lots of money.

I believe they could have sent Cease and Desist letters, but I think it is better when the media can do the work so the campaign's hands don't have to get dirty. I am amazed and so pleased somebody has picked this up and vowed to stay on top of it! Awesome.

As I said in the other thread, the GOP and Romney's campaign will find a way around this, or at least will prolong this until after the convention when it doesn't even matter anymore (if things actually do go Romney's way). If RP's campaign is going to act, they need to do it now.

As a partisan for Paul, I could not be happier with the RNC bringing the gun to its own head and pulling the trigger. Most of those people will be looking for new jobs.

If the voters reject Ron Paul, I can accept that even if it is just a bunch of pasty old people - FDR socialists disguised as social conservatives. Priebus still has to pretend to put on a show, this farce of a primary.

If the RNC or Romney or any other party bigwig had what it takes to lead instead of being led, they would have directed TPTB to treat Ron Paul with fairness and dignity. The debate speaking time discrepencies would have ended. The MSM would stop counting Ron Paul out of the race before the first votes in Iowa (even Cain was treated as a serious contender during his scandels up until his official campaign suspension). Instead, the Republican leadership - whoever that is - did nothing.

I am not suggesting anyone should have helped Paul!!! But shouldn't someone or the RNC be in charge of co-opting the Peace and Liberty movement Ron Paul represents? I'm not talking about actually implementing the ideas of Ron Paul, but the usual misappropriation of good ideas for evil ends. This level of incompetence is unacceptable.
