I posted this on the Daily Paul and I'm just reposting it here:

I noticed that the Virginia Congressional District Conventions begin tomorrow and last through the 19th of May. Just wanted to make everyone aware of this, and hopefully we can win some delegates. There are 11 districts and each one will award 3 delegates for a total of 33. Here is the full schedule:

April 28: CD4 and CD9

May 5: CD6

May 12: CD1, CD2, CD3, CD7, and CD8

May 19: CD5, CD10, and CD11

I know we have a group of people running in the 4th. I don't think we have anybody running in the 9th though.

There should be some fireworks in district 3. That's the only one Paul officially won in the primary... and the district chairman was very dismissive of supporting that result.

I don't know if he was there, but I was at District 9. Clean sweep, zero problems at the convention.

Do you know if we also won CD4? Or did we lose that one?

Just to clarify. Only 6 delegates from Virginia have been selected. 4 out of 6 of them are ours?

Just to clarify. Only 6 delegates from Virginia have been selected. 4 out of 6 of them are ours?

To recap, from the beginning:
Virginia has 49 delegates, 46 regular and 3 super.
The 46 regular delegates are all bound by the result of the primary, 43 to Mittens and 3 to RP.
Election of delegates to the RNC began today with conventions in VA4 and VA9. It will continue with district conventions in the other 9 CDs on upcoming Saturdays in May and finally 13 at-large delegates at State in June.
Of the 6 delegates selected today, all are bound to Mittens on the first ballot due to the primary, but 4 of the 6 are Paul supporters.

Good news. Now all Paulbots must show up in numbers at the State Convention and move to unbind the delegates from popular vote. (thanks to drummergirl from another thread where she posted this.)

Folks, i just want to add additional info for VA CD4. We also got a liberty candidate on the state central committee. How did we do in CD9 on the SCC? Anybody know?

There were no explicit liberty candidates running for state central in the 9th. Of the three elected, one was the past district chair (endorsed by Bolling and Cuccinelli), one was re-elected (endorsed by Bolling and def. not Paul-friendly), and the third was newly elected (endorsed by Cuccinelli). One woman seeking reelection was endorsed by Bolling, but not re-elected.
Every establishment character (except the Bolling-endorsed guy who was re-elected) who spoke at the convention was careful to avoid endorsing or naming Presidential candidates; the usual formulation was "Send Morgan Griffith back to the House, send a Republican to the Senate, and send Barack Obama back to Chicago/Hawaii/Indonesia/Kenya" (all of these locations were mentioned at least once).
I will state that our path to victory for the delegates was not by dominating the convention with RP supporters; we simply had better candidates who gave better speeches. I was the only RP supporter from our local unit at the convention, but the liberty slate carried our delegation about 80-20.

So these four can abstain from voting in the first round? This is the so called stealth delegate tactic at work right?
Can the same be done in winner take all states like NY?
