But what does it mean when 20% of all households cannot afford to buy the food they need for their families?

Evidently, not all of them do need food stamps to feed their families. How many of them are like that broad is anyone's guess.

I am all for jumping on people that misuse food stamps. That being said without more details I really can't pass judgement of this woman. Nowhere in the article does it say she bought those items. They could have been gifts for all we know. As for the 800 dollars in cash that may have been rent money :) though unlikely as it seems.

True, however, I personally doubt this to be the case myself. But, one must be honest with one's judgements.
