Yeah, I wondered that too.... but maybe there is more competition from nonRonPaul Republicans for the delegates? Or lack of a college, since Ron uses college facilities and youth for Ron Paul organization....

UC Irvine, CSUF, CSULB, anyone planning anything there?

Irvine and the other OC universities have plenty of CFL...YAL...on the campuses. Lots of republicans in the area around there....

I'll be there. Here's my ticket:

I highly recommend you register. About 1,000 could not get in at the UCLA event because they didn't have tickets.

Im the treasurer for Youth for Ron Paul at UC Davis. Can anyone with experience give me advice on publicizing? Ive contacted the school and local papers which have not yet gotten back to me and am going to try and call in to a popular local radio show tmrw morning. What else can I do?

So no one here has any experience publicizing a Ron Paul event? Ive contacted the local papers but how do I know if they will run anything? I'm calling in to a radio show tmrw with a host whose endorsed Paul, but how do I ensure I get on? We flyered on campus all day and will be tabling at the Davis farmer's market this weekend, and hopefully chalking campus tonight. I want to get the word out in the greater Sacramento and Bay Areas too. I think the Davis Occupy might be planning a protest, how should we prepare?

Check with the UT - El Paso YRFP Chapter who had their rally last night. El Paso evidently is a very liberal city. 80% + Hispanic and Democratic, yet they worked very hard and had a packed house of 1,200 last night.

Also call the National Chairman, YFRP.

I never publicized a Ron Paul event but when I was in college (in Arkansas) a common thing we did was chalk the sidewalks. In highly traveled areas, we would write in colored chalk that there was an event and when it was. Publicize it like you would any other event.

I noticed on the campus map (http://campusmap.ucdavis.edu/) you've got a radio station right on campus.

As for preparing for protestors. During some of the immigration rallies I've been to an area or a line has been drawn to separate the two groups. I'm not sure if that is the best way to work out differences but it does aid in controlling conflict.

Remember; Annihilating those that oppose Ron Paul means winning over their hearts and their minds.

man, no love for the OC. There is no way I am going to be able to get a sitter for my kids long enough to go down to SD on a Friday night. :(

Someone with a video camera watching for confrontations between opposing points of view or groups can also be of use. No matter what happens it can help aid in bringing any arguments to an end and stop the escalation.

Did you try contacting the other colleges that have already pulled off these events for tips?

I'm in the center of the OC, I went to the UCLA event.. it wasn't that far. Though I wish he'd come to the OC, I think it may be asking for too much since the OC is pretty much the suburb of LA.

I live in Central America and it just so happens I'll be in San Diego from May 2nd to the 5th attending the Craft Brewers Conference....talk about perfect timing! Got my early admittance ticket printed already.

Anyone know the closest parking to the Warren Mall at U.C. San Diego?

It looks like the majority of it is quite a ways south.(Link to Google Map) (http://maps.google.com/maps?q=Warren+Mall,+University+of+California+San+D iego,+San+Diego,+CA+92161&oe=utf-8&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a&um=1&ie=UTF-8&ei=IPKdT9_PCKSqiAKPlJVk&sa=X&oi=mode_link&ct=mode&cd=3&ved=0CBIQ_AUoAg)

If you zoom in on the map, I see a garage called the, "Gilman Parking Structure" that looks pretty likely. It kind of looks for sure-ish but pretty far away. Google has it down as a third of a mile and a 5 minute walk.

P502 Google says you can't park here.

P503 could fill fast.

I see other small lots like P506 and P509.

UC San Diego Parking (Rules) (http://blink.ucsd.edu/facilities/transportation/visitor/)

After digging in the rules a little I came across this map with spots galore. Over on the left hand side is a + to expland the parking and then a box to check for Warren College. It shows a bunch of places around Warren Mall. Way up in the right hand corner of the map is the index to the color coding.

http://maps.ucsd.edu/mapping/viewer/default.htm?mkey=1&zoom=6&background=1

The one day rules are dizzying.

A properly dated 1 Day permit lets you park for up to 24 hours in the following spaces:

S: 24 hours
Look for painted yellow squares with a black S on the ground.
B: 24 hours
Look for painted green squares with a white B on the ground.
A: 4:30 p.m. to 8:30 a.m.
Look for painted red squares with a white A on the ground.
Note: Not valid where posted "A permit required 24 hours a day, 7 days a week."
V (not including Gilman Parking Structure): 4:30 p.m. to 7:45 a.m.
Look for painted white squares with a black V on the ground.
Note: 1 Day permits are never valid in Gilman Parking Structure V spaces.
Meters (with no fee): 4:30 p.m. – 7:45 a.m. (http://blink.ucsd.edu/facilities/transportation/permits/where-when/index.html#1-Day)
