Myself and my mother went to cast our votes for Ron Paul today, it was at 3:15 PM and we were votes 9 and 10. I then went to sign wave outside of polling stations, where I was quoted numbers like 20, 8 and 16 for the turnout (the 16 number was at 5:30 PM). We had people outside of each polling place in the county, and we are feeling good about our results! We think Paul should do very well in Schuyler county!

So, you guys in NY all personally KNOW the other 15 Ron Paul supporters that turned out to vote in your districts, right?

Or are you all islands with no contact and no organization?

Please tell me we're going to win NY :)

Exactly, thats why get on the phones and call every single soul you know, and tell them to do the same (and whoever they call should also be told to call... and such goes the domino)...

A low turnout suggests our folks didn't turn out either (at least believe it as such)- so we need to get them out.!! Call! Don't trust your friends to go out and vote.. CAll them and if they sound lazy, pick them up and drag them to the polls!!!

If we lose in such a low turn out, we've missed a MAJOR chance.. A win in NY could flip the whole narrative... It would be all over news... Get on the phones and call every soul you know.. Drag them to the polls!

Yeah with such low turnouts being reported if we don't win in NY it's the grassroot's fault. Considering the large, organized grassroots networks we have in the states I've been directly involved in (Washington, Alaska and Oregon), if you trans-located any of our supporters from these states to NY it sounds like it'd be a blowout victory for Ron Paul.

Don't forget to get copies/pictures of the poll tapes. That's he printed results for each individual precincts/machine. They should post it at 8:00 at the location's window, but if now ask to see them. Write the numbers down if you don't have a camera.

Report in the results thread and PM me with the numbers.

Keeping him below 50% would be GR8 news.. But even if we can't then we will still get delegates only if we win CDs, but even he's above 50% what are the chances of winning any CD?

Here's the rules:

"
Tuesday 24 April 2012: 92 of 95 of New York's delegates to the Republican National Convention are allocated to presidential contenders in today's New York Presidential Primary.

58 district delegates are bound to presidential contenders based on the primary results in each of the state's 29 congressional districts (using the congressional districts in effect in 2010 per the 2000 census reapportionment). Each congressional district is assigned 2 National Convention delegates. In each district:
If no presidential contender receives 20% or more of the vote, the party will elect 2 delegates without considering the results of the primary.
Otherwise, the candidate receiving the greatest number of votes receives 2 delegates. These delegates are slated by the Presidential candidates prior to the primary.
34 At-Large delegates are bound to presidential contenders "winner-take-most" based on the statewide primary results. These delegates are elected at the state committee meeting.
If a candidate receives more than 50% of the vote, that candidate receives all 34 delegates.
Otherwise, the delegates are distributed proportionally to those candidates receiveing 20% or more of the vote. (Rounding details are not know.)"

Precinct Results:

My polling site had three precincts combined into one. They stated that 19 people showed up to vote. 19! There were 19 ballots used, 18 were scanned into the machine correctly and one was spoiled. Which means that the ladies made an error. It means that 18 people showed up and one person who to use two ballots because of the spoiled ballet. We are not allowed to view the actual voting ballots or the book with the signatures, we cannot confirm authenticity.

Results:
Romney - 10
Paul - 4
Gingrich - 3
Santorum - 1

I believe this will be pretty close to the actual New York state results.

Ron losing to Romney is one thing but to be beat by Gingrich in NY state. If this continues I am not buying it. If that is the case I bet this slow electronic voting results are due to the time it takes to manipulate the data for their preferred result.

Early voters or hard core supporters.

Well it sure as heck doesn't help that a lot of RP's supporters stubbornly refuse to switch from Libertarian or Constitution party registration to vote for him.
These people are such babies. "I dun wanna soil my fingers by pressing R" Grow up. I was a socialist 4 years ago and voted in the Republican primary twice to cause chaos. I ended up voting for Lonegan (for NJ gov), who I would support now after all haha. Ive talked to people on the left and right like this. And then the "I wish he would run third party" THIRD PARTY NEVER WILL GET ANYWHERE AT THE PRESIDENTIAL LEVEL
< !!! ENTER RANT MODE !!! >
The only place third party will EVER work is in areas where its really lopsided. Any 70% or 80% and over vote can be split in half. But the third parties are so thick and demented that they would rather spend millions on presidential campaigns that accomplish ABSOLUTELY NOTHING whatsoever. There are so many lopsided districts that can be exploited easily. Why dont the socialists put someone serious up against Charlie Rangel? The Greens against Nancy Pelosi? Instead of spending a million on Gary Johnson, the libertarians should have fully funded the libertarians that run against Dick Lugar. I could go on and on and on. I really dont care who does it and would love to help them. I would much prefer open Socialists in Congress than the Demoncraps. At least the Vermont Progressive Party has some sense and is starting to build themselves up. I was going to start one here, but then I became a libertarian and apathetic about elections. But anyway...
< !!! EXIT RANT MODE !!! >

ALSO, the campaign and the grassroots could have done better and organized like hell. Do people not know what GOTV is? I actually had a friend who said to me today "Whats GOTV?" and hes pretty attuned to this stuff. The campaign especially could send out an email at the least "Hai guise, could ya get your asses out and vote? Take your family, neighbors, friends, and make sure they vote for Ron Paul." We could have won more delegates tonight outright. Its like Virginia. WHY WAS THERE NO CAMPAIGN THERE? We couldve won 9th. We couldve won the goddam state. Why didnt they sue to say the 50%+ rule should be changed to 67%? etc etc etc. The caucuses dont make up a majority of delegates and we cant steal everything. Theyre putting way too much faith in brokered and if Mittens hits 1144 mid June, the party is over.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE future states GET THE VOTE OUT. Everyone thinks its over and turnout will be low. Ill be sure to be doing this in NJ, altho its walking up a mountain, but I dont want to be a hypocrite.

Mckarnin

Yeah, I happen to know 4 people right off hand locally who are serious Ron Paul "supporters" but won't change registration. My guess is that there are hundreds like that in Pittsburgh and when you are talking about delegate races that are lost by 200 votes that's a big deal.
