Right there with ya, Kathy!

I've been handing out delegate cards all weekend to CD3 supporters. (With clear instructions on how to disperse these to voters...)

We are expecting very low turnout. They say VERY, VERY low... A couple of delegate votes here or there could very well make the difference!

What do our chances look like? any polls?Polls are incredibly useless in PA. They may give you an indication of who is going to win the straw poll, but our delegates are uncommitted and you vote for them directly! And the ballot does not tell you which delegate is supporting which candidate.

That's why these delegate cards are so important today!

I'm working the second shift at the polls and have a couple hundred cards for myself. If anyone else in CD3 still needs cards, I may be able to help you out if you're close. PM me. But remember, you need to do this soon because I'll be working the polls as well.

FOR LIBERTY, PA!!!! Let's do this!

Pennsylvania is an odd state since all 4 have their delegates listed but without who they support. By odds alone are that Mitt will only get 25% of them so lets hope the people on the street do a great job. And plus them doing a great job could grab 50%, santorum/newt people could jump to our side in FL as well. But that is me wishful thinking since I am not sure the amount of people on the street.

Voted for Ron for the third time. As of 8:30 only 17 people had showed up. When I got there there were four cars in the parking lot. 2 don't tread on me stickers, 2 Paul campaign stickers :) I asked the poll workers what the deal was, and they think a lot of people don't know today is election day since they moved it from May. This bodes VERY well for us.

Came home for more coffee. Going out again.

Just got back from voting. I approached my heavily democratic polling place with a Ron Paul sign and saw there were already 5 lining both sides of the path and the house across from the polling place had a Ron Paul banner and 3 yard signs. When I went in to vote the gals told me we were the 6th and 7th Republicans to vote at our location today. A better than 1:1 ratio of visible Ron Paul signs to GOP voters is not bad. :)

No signs for any other presidential candidate in sight.

I talked to a guy at my place, and he said he didn't even vote for delegates. That bodes well for us as well. Anyway, lots of positive feedback and almost all took our cards. Had to come home at 4. Hubby should be home any minute and I'm going with him to vote and hopefully hand out a few more cards. He's "making" me stop because we are leaving on vacation tomorrow and I didn't do anything to get ready today. Plus for some reason he feels I need to get some sleep. I think we did well today in my little precinct.

Excellent! +rep

I got off work at 6am. Came home, changed and headed right to our voting place at 7am. Took one break at noon and was back by 12:45. Good turn out for a small village. It was like old home week. And THAT is why we are leaving the men home when we go to TAMPA BABY!!!!!

Yea, the big city will be the dark horse in all this.

We should do decent in the rural parts.
I have a feeling we will do decent in Pittsburgh given the combination of artsy people, new techies, and old school blue collars.
But Pittsburgh is only 300k in population, while Philadelphia is 1.5 million.

Hopefully we have lots of people working in Philly right now too busy to post here.

But since delegates are elected by district, I imagine we will certainly end the day with something decent overall.

Philly and Pittsburgh are heavily democratic. This will be won in the rural areas and suburbs.

There were only a couple thousand Republican votes total in Philadelphia in the 2008 primary. The good news is that means our delegates there have a good shot at winning. The bad news is we're not running full slates in the 2 Philly districts.

Ok, just got home... I spent hours handing out cards and conversing with my state rep who was also there. The traffic was slow, but kind of steady. I counted my cards and it turns out I handed out about 60. I got many thumbs up and it seemed like they were voting for my delegates. I was the only one concerned about delegates at my polling site. I felt pretty good.

Then I get home and check the returns...

The same old names got all the votes. Our delegates came in a clear second, but second doesn't count. The top 3 in CD3 are all establishment. Very disappointed right now.

That makes me smile, too. The man deserves it.

And THANK YOU Pennsylvania!! You were wonderful!! Unfortunately, the media was depressingly effective. I really hope Ron's state wins will actually be covered so he can get some momentum from them for TX and CA. But PA grass roots are an inspiration to us all!
