I know the idea of an infomercial has been discussed in several threads, but I think that nobody has taken it seriously enough.

The boost of publicity of the Teaparty will last several days, in which people will like to know more about Ron Paul.
Using the millions of dollars donated for 30 second ads will not fulfill this need (as stated in this great article (http://www.nolanchart.com/article274.html)).

But a 30 minute infomercial could bring the message of Ron Paul to the masses.

I think that this forum is a great place to create an infomercial template, that could include many videos already made by supporters (like "A New hope", etc.), and then get a quote from infomercial production companies that could have it ready for December 16th. (We have only a month, people).

My suggested template (things to include, not particularly in this order):

1. Introduction of the Ron Paul phenomenon (in short, like the videos in Operation New Hampshire (http://www.operationnh.com/))

2. A new Hope Video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FG2PUZoukfA) (as is, stating that it is a video created by supporters, with no money involved)

3. An edition of his participation in the GOP debates (like Ron Paul courageously speaks the truth (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G7d_e9lrcZ8))

4. An interview with Ron Paul, explaining his views.

5. The November 5th money bomb news collage

6. Video Land of the free (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kll9-nR4uVs)

7. December 16 money bomb and growing support.

8. Testimonials of people at rallies.

Repeat these stories, placing different issues in 7 minute blocks.

(I know several of these videos have copyright issues, but I think with some editing they could be aired without too much trouble)

I would say spend a good deal of time on RP detailing his perspectives. 30 second commercials and 30 second debate snippets are not enough time to get his message across sufficiently, just enough to get people curious. In to many cases the Presidential nomination is some kind of popularity contest to see who can win the 30 second sound bit contest.

A 30 min. video would allow him the time to not have to rush his answers and deliver his message in its entirety.

There is already another thread (http://www.ronpaulforums.com/showthread.php?t=37262) with an effort promoted by a company called Hollywood Closeups.

I am insisting in this issue, because it is fundamental to understand that the money in the official campaign will go fast paying for 30 second spots, and those don't work

Many people in this forum have stories about how they converted a friend or relative by showing them the right video.
NEVER has that video been the 30 second spot of RP reading from a teleprompter, with the declaration of independence in the background.

This is SO IMPORTANT, because Ron Paul's message takes time to digest. (Please read the article (http://www.nolanchart.com/article274.html)I mentioned before).

It is important for the supporters to make the official campaign see this.

Someone must take this idea seriously and run with it.

1) Ron Paul's ideas take time to explain and digest, 60 second TV spots are not useful here.
2) Infomercials can be seen by anyone with a TV.
3) It can include testimonials of people like you, with a great story to tell.
4) It can reach the people that currently know only about the candidates through MSM.
5) An infomercial can ask for contributions on the spot, making it easy to measure its effectiveness, and also help to make it pay for itself.
6) People can donate via telephone (which would reach a larger amount of people than the internet)

BETTER IDEA (FREE) (http://www.ronpaulforums.com/showthread.php?t=21664)

Ok, how about a move to put Ron Paul on all the free access channels on the the 16th? I think we need to move faster on Dec 16th activities.

From what I've seen, infomercials tend to be very repetitive, because nobody watches the entire show.

I think this is a NECESSARY action we NEED TO DO.
