At the Oklahoma District 3 convention, little paper slips were distributed to many of the Ron Paul county delegates with numbered candidates placed on them. Some of us would walk the aisles at the appropriate time, holding fingers indicating the number of the candidate to vote for that corresponded with the little slips.... County by county, the convention Chairman read aloud the name of each county's choice from the ballots collected. The crowd gasped and laughed when he read "So and So County, the winner is....Number 7". Fortunately, by then, everyone had figured out who "Number 7" was and the appropriate name was counted on the screen.
Finally, when the votes from each county were tallied, the the beleaguered District Chairman announced "The winner is....Number 7" and the crowed roared!
It was a very good day in Oklahoma District 3.
