Catocide

The Drugged Lady Sings: The Koch-Cato Power Opera is About to End
I am digging around here in DC into the rumors circulating around a senior Cato person, they don't get much more horrific than this. This power opera will end with a key Cato player led off the stage, and the statute of limitations hasn't expired, so handcuffs are not out of the question.

Statutes of limitations for this kind of stuff don't expire for a very long time---and the memories of the victim, even when the victim was drugged, and then paid off (with Cato money?), last a very long time.

Cato Bombshell About To Explode
Posted by Lew Rockwell on April 17, 2012 02:14 PM
I can't describe the monstrous incident, but its revelation will bring down Ed Crane and his entire posse. There will be no more Koch-Cato battle. The Kochs will be triumphant.

For more than 30 years, Ed has stood atop the libertarian movement, or at least its big-government side. Now the Crane Era is about to end, and that means great days ahead for liberty. As I've watched the Koch-Cato fight, I didn't take sides. But now I have reason to believe that—though Charles Koch opposed the founding of the Mises Institute—the continuing and intensifying animus against Murray Rothbard, Ron Paul, the Mises Institute, and me has come from Ed's bile.

So here's to a better future! Oh, and let the purge begin.

They're on the same side. Satan's side, that is.

Don't root for CATO's downfall. Judge Nap is on the Board of Directors BTW http://www.cato.org/people/directors.html

In America, we judge actions of the individual. The CATO institute is an "entity." It cannot be held responsible for the actions of individuals.

Weren't some people here saying that the Koch brothers were the ones spewing bile against us?

Well, so much for Cato as a voice. Campaign for Liberty and Mises had better quadruple after this election.

yes. just because there was an internal battle there doesn't mean either of the sides were on OUR side, although I assume there will be no true value to Cato after the Kochs take it entirely into their image, and it did used to have some.

I thought the Cato low point was when people learned that Cato was paid to lie about issues. This sounds like it might be even worse.

I just hope it doesn't fail or switch ideologies. It is a great policy think tank.

They're soft on ideology, just as you are.

Their policy proposals do nothing but undermine libertarianism.

When have they lobbied for special privileges from the government?

except it caters to special interests as well. Still, it gives an alternative view and a more fiscally conservative one.

If he hadn't put the "me" in there, he would have had me convinced. But I admit I've seen a lot more open Ron Paul hate from Cato than any other so-called libertarian organization.

The liberal here hate them, and the libertarians hate everybody. You're right, however. They're not the enemy.
