It takes more than a few people to spread the word. Do your part not just for Ron, but for the liberty movement. We need to push this event hard to ensure that we give Ron the resources he needs to go to Tampa.

Tell your friends, family and whomever will listen, that it's time to Rise for Liberty!

How do I promote the Moneybomb on Facebook?

1. Save your favorite banner image to your computer.
2. Go to a Facebook Page that you want to promote on.
3. Go to post a status on the Page, then click "Photo / Video" link above the status text box, then upload the banner.
4. Add the text in the quote below.
5. You've just help Ron out!

Use the following text, along with banner images to promote the Moneybomb on Facebook pages and profiles:

On May 17th, it’s time to pledge our support for the only candidate that will end the NDAA, CISPA and other attacks on our freedoms. It’s time to rise for liberty and support Ron Paul. Spread the message!

In a recent GOP debate, Romney said that he would have signed the NDAA. Let's not settle for that! Show your support for Constitutional freedoms by attending the Rise for Liberty, May 17th Ron Paul Moneybomb.

Obama hasn't kept his promises. He signed the NDAA, resigned the Patriot Act and has ignored Constitutional restraints. We must forget party lines and support the only candidate who will end the wars, NDAA and stop attacks on Internet freedoms.

What's all this reserved business? :p

I think we could use this for the Something's Happening Here theme we've been discussing as well as anything regarding loss of liberties. I think it is a great idea.

I like the idea of using the attacks on our civil liberties as a cornerstone for the Moneybomb.

I've got the Facebook/Event page in the works and plan on continuing to develop this thread.

We need likes on the Facebook page - https://www.facebook.com/pages/Rise-for-Liberty/418325274862436

Why don't we promote the Thomas Massie one on the 26th before this?

I think he is saying there is already one going on. There will be a bunch of money bombs going on for a lot of candidates. Yesterday Gunny had one (or maybe the day before, I forget when I donated). But Ron needs a lot of money from people outside our usual circle which takes a lot of planning. Certainly, there will be a bunch of deadlines between now and the 17th, it just needs certain things set up early like a web page etc, so promotion can even start. That isn't to say people shouldn't promote all the other liberty candidate money bombs in between.

But were we going to call it the Something's Happening Here moneybomb or the Rise for Liberty one? We just had 'give me liberty'. If that is what people want, fine, otherwise that could be the webpage name but not the money bomb name. Let's decide though, because the name has a lot to do with what you do with the theme.

I wouldn't mind taking what they had, rework it and release it. It would save a lot of time.

exactly.

and there are all the progressive sites to promote a civil liberties money bomb on. I don't know what the firedoglake rules are about that, but I have an account there I made for commenting purposes between elections when we were working on the fed audit with the left, and I can post diaries and unless I clearly am forbidden by the rules, I would post about this.

How about bailing out Europe and the $17 trillion churned through banks including foreign banks? It could be 'do you like bailing out Europe? google '$17 trillion' and 'federal reserve' and rise up for liberty!

but I kind of resent the notion that the Fourth Amendment belongs to the left. The constitution is a conservative document, preserving God given rights.

Everything here looks great, getting excited about this already. I love the graphics, the theme, and the hashtag will make it a lot easier to find others to re-tweet. My only suggestions from promoting In It To Win It are to make sure that everyone clearly knows that the site isn't accepting any money itself. I came across that a lot, people asking if it was "official" or having people post a warning to others that it was a scam. It felt like I was wasting so much time having to post on every "scam" comment because once people see that word they're unlikely to click on it.

Also, I'm not sure if you only want people to sign up if they are actually going to donate themselves but I saw a lot of "I wish I could help but I don't have any money" or they wouldn't join the event because they weren't sure if they'd have the money. I'd tell them that they could still help by joining the event, inviting their friends, and changing their profile picture. I figured that would both help spread the word and remind them in case they end up getting money later. So maybe have the part where people enter their email say something like "Sign the pledge to Rise For Liberty - and be reminded about the moneybomb".

Thanks, great suggestions. I'll change few words out.

I'm nearly finished with what will be the first launch, allowing us to starting collecting pledges.

I have no doubt, that the site will evolve in the coming weeks.

That looks great, makes it very clear and should draw in the anti-CISPA people. And having 4 weeks to get the word out there and collect pledges is awesome.

By the way, best thing I've ever created:

Funny thing is, when you go to the Moneybomb site and click share on Facebook, that's the image it picks as the thumbnail. Love it!

That's great for 2 days. I'm excited to see how big this can be with so much time to spread and for people to plan and save.

Love the talking head, and used "Let it not be said that we did nothing" on posts for InToWin and it seemed to get a lot of good responses. I still haven't given up on this MoneyBomb and I need a day away from the computer but I'll try to do what whatever I can to post it around tomorrow.

I have an image idea. First, have a split screen. On the left can be our founder fathers at the constitutional convention, and on the right can be the famous picture of Ron Paul from behind with his arms extended to a massive crowd of supporters. The caption can say at the top "Liberty Will Rise Again", and at the bottom "Rise For Liberty Moneybomb May 17"

I'd suggest Freedom Broadcasting Network (http://freedombroadcastingnetwork.com).

Freedom Broadcasting Network is truly a grass roots effort. The idea, concept and initial launch were all born out of people within the freedom and liberty movement, who were fed up with the lies, manipulations and out-right “blackout” of current events and happenings around the world.

Here's a promo video:

I hate to say anything bad about Paul supporters, but RevPac recently did orenbus & I dirty. I won't go into the details, but I certainly won't be supporting them any time soon.

Added new avatars and banners.

I'll have more later today, as well as a Facebook kit with a timeline cover and profile pictures.

I'm thinking 10 avatars, 15-20 banners, along with the Facebook kit, should do us good for a while. I'll then begin work on pledge widgets and continuing to add to the site. I'm planning a possible anti-Mitt page to pass around.

I would love some of our video guru to start working on something we can pass around or if good enough, put on the site. One that is anti-Mitt that has Rise for Liberty info at the end is needed and a civil liberties one with our info at the end.

There's already a Facebook share tracker on the site.

It would mean just redesigning it for the event itself. It's all possible.

And anything that could get people sharing this is vital, so far, only a few people are doing anything at this point.

I just thought of an idea to help with the promotion of this moneybomb. Let's have a facebook share bomb. In other words, have everyone that's interested post the moneybomb event link and banners to Ron Paul facebook wall and/or other popular Ron Paul related pages at the exact same time. It could possibly generate more buzz and get some momentum behind the promtion efforts. I think it will definitely get the attention of the casual viewer of Ron's facebook page, and they might attend.

Anyone want to suggest a date or time for this?

If Ron wants to make an easy 3 million in 24 hours all he needs is to stop making ads that keep talking about his 1 trillion dollar cut year one. I think he has made a total of 8-10 different versions of those. 50% of people who are voting for Mitt think he has the best chance to beat Obama. Paul needs to make ads/an ad that shoulds the amount of crowds vs Mitt and end with the question do Republicans/Conservatives want to beat Obama in November? Maybe make the ad seem its for Mitt for the first 10 seconds with the crowds to get peoples attention that it flips to show Paul who is the most electable.

It all depends on community involvement.

And sadly, I'm doing everything at this point from a design, development, running the Facebook/event pages and have been really pushing to get more pledges/invites but nothing major has come from it. People wonder why the Moneybombs don't make money, when they wait until it's like 3 days before to start promoting.

I was basically told to f--- off, when I asked for help from pasted organizers. So I had to create a site from scratch and start an entirely new mail list for this event. Who knows if they will even email bomb on May 17th.

Though I will say dusman (Black this out), has tried to get involved which is nice, but I think he's been really busy.

Well, it's nice to see you undestand. I cranked that video out as quickly as I could because I thought the sooner the better. Obviously if I had more time to work on it, it would likely be better, but that would lead to less time for promotion. I sure hope everyone understands the importance of "URGENCY".

I’m not sure you heard, but the Ron Paul delegate strategy is underway; leading to two victories so far in Iowa and Minnesota. Ron is fighting hard for delegates and he needs our support on May 17th for the Rise for Liberty Moneybomb. Spread the word!

Start by joining and inviting your friends and family to the event at http://facebook.com/events/296655957077018/, then pledge your support at http://riseforliberty.com/.

I don't believe they've done this before, which is a lot of people that may not know or learn about it without this. It does appear that they actively update the state pages, which is good.

Maybe add in a link to this thread on the event page for people who want to get involved, and then when they see that it's on RPF they'll feel less like it's just some unknown people trying to steal their info? Like the person who was just posting there, I think they mean well but it can't help when people see someone warning them not to join.

I like the added part about how people can help for free by accepting the invitation and inviting friends. I've been including that as a message with my invitations and I think it helps.

Exactly. It's annoying to get people like that, even more so since he was a pro-Paul page admin, that I sent a letter to asking for support in spreading the message, so I doubt he'll be promoting it now. A lot of these page admins never post any Moneybomb information, which is so critical in getting Ron elected, very frustrating.

He doesn't get that we pay money out of our own pocket to have an email campaign like that.

By the way, I ended up just deleting his post, since I didn't want him discouraging other people from getting involved.

I totally agree. It was frustrating spending hours posting about In It To Win It on different pages and then see that someone else must have spent just as long going around warning people to not click on it. And it was from pro-Paul people. Then there were a few that I saw everywhere posting links just to the campaign site. I think it's great that they took the time promote the MoneyBomb, but if they had been also promoting the Facebook event they could have multiplied their efforts with the viral effect. I tried bringing them in but was always ignored.

I think it just goes to show how important this is. Most people don't visit sites like this so they never hear about the MoneyBomb. The only way they do is if they have donated before and receive the campaign's emails, or from the official Facebook page. But even then it's only days before the MoneyBomb starts.

Those pages can promote money-bomb. I contacted some of them (before my account was blocked) and some of them did promote previous money bomb. Again they can promote!!! Most of them choose to put direct link to donate page of official campaign.

I sent them something link this:

"On xx date there will be another money bomb. Please inform your facebook group members and friends and promote it...bla bla bla"

and then post links to relevant pages...

To fix that campaign needs to put pledge on their own site but they dont do that....(they were asked)... When It comes to money bombs there will be no help from official campaign. Which is a shame. If they post 1 post on Twitter and 1 post on facebook they would reach more people (1,5 million+ minimum) in 1 minute than we (grassroots) can in a week. If someone got contact in campaign he is free to try like some others did (but got no response).

Yeah, I was just messing around to see if I could come up with a video and uploaded it yesterday right when I finished to see how it looked. I came back a half hour later and wondered how it already had views and likes. One of the new subscribers was "We Know The Secrets To The Federal Reserve". They put it on their Facebook page which was shared by 40 people and posted on The Rand Paul Review http://www.randpaulreview.com/ron-paul-rise-for-liberty-moneybomb-may-17th/ within a few hours. I guess that just shows how fast things can spread and how important the Facebook part is to getting the word out.

Yeah, it is a shame that they don't realize what they could do if they tried. If they hosted the promotion site and sent out invitations to an official "event" ahead of time it would be huge. They only post about a moneybomb just before it starts and miss out on the viral effect of people sharing with and inviting their friends.

Robo-Calls from Call Centers contracted by the Official Campaign are asking for Donations from RP Donors Right Now.

The caller states that Ron Paul needs $650,000.00 in the next 14 days or by May 14th. Then Ron comes on the telephone with his plea are funds.

This is similar to what the Campaign did two months ago.

Bottom Line their target is to have the funds in the bank NLT 14 May. I assume to buy TV Ads/Radio Ads and Direct Mail.

Is May 17th now too late and should the date be moved up to May 11th???

I wonder if the campaign heard about the plans for the 17th and this is their way of saying they need money earlier, or if they don't know about the MoneyBomb yet and could just wait the 3 extra days. Either way though I agree, kinda late to change the date now.

We all kinda knew that the campaign would likely do a end of the month push, which I'm guessing could conflict with an official announcement about this Moneybomb.

All I'm hoping for within the next week or so, they make this official. The longer they wait to start promotion, the less time they have to push it.

We'll see how it plays out.

I would change it if they need it by May 14. You can email the change to the people who pledged saying it is in response to an earlier need for funds by the campaign. The problem is that if Ron needs it earlier, people are going to donate earlier instead. An end of month push would have been earlier and wouldn't compete as much with the money bomb. A deadline three days before the money bomb is pretty tough, though.

I can understand the need for money before the 17th. But I'd think that if they needed some money quickly they could send out emails or whatever right now, like they have before without an official MoneyBomb, and it would still be early enough that it wouldn't conflict with them also doing a bigger MoneyBomb on the 17th.

Yes the earlier that they adopt it and make it official, hopefully using the same name, the bigger it will be. Before No One But Paul I had never donated and I had never even heard of a MoneyBomb. Only after watching For Liberty which led me to this site did I hear about it. I had "liked" Ron Paul on Facebook and visited the campaign site occasionally but because they only officially promote a MoneyBomb for such a limited amount of time I never saw it. Those are the type of people I'm trying to reach when I'm spreading this. The potential new donors that like Ron Paul but don't visit sites like this one, haven't heard of a MoneyBomb before and don't check Facebook or the campaign site every day.

Make it a multiple-day moneybomb, starting on the 14th. Those who wish then to donate to Paul on the 14th, after being robocalled can do so, where others who took note of this moneybomb on the 17th will donate then - and it could all be added together in one grand total.

Exactly, even without directly being involved they could at least just say "we need a Moneybomb on May xx", and then let the grassroots organize and promote it. Is there a way to at least make sure they know about the plans for the 17th?

Is there a reason why they'd do robo-calls instead of sending emails and posting on Facebook?

I think this sounds like the way to go. I'm thinking that until they make it public this push for money with calls can be kept separate from the Moneybomb. From what I've seen it looks like maybe they're calling people who can and have given larger amounts. So they can keep doing this privately, and then also have a public Moneybomb that they put a ticker up for and stuff on the 17th.

Griping WILL NOT SOLVE ANYTHING! ACTION WILL! Thus OUR grassroots effort to run a monthly moneybomb...

Is there a reason why they'd do robo-calls instead of sending emails and posting on Facebook?

Simply because that's the method they chose to use. Just a thought, but MAYBE the statistics they have show emails & facebook aren't as effective fundraising tools. I doubt it, but if their data shows it, I'm sure they would believe it over us.

NOTHING says the decided date of 17th HAS to be changed by us. If the 14th is the date the official campaign wants to push, let them. We can simply keep advertising the 17th & affect a mid-week surge for them.

You're right, I did sound like I was griping and I apologize. I don't want to complain, I want to adapt and keep moving forward. I didn't mean to question their use of robo-calls, they certainly know a lot more than I do. I was just genuinely curious if anyone knew why they weren't making it known to more people or putting anything up on the campaign site and calling it a MoneyBomb. I think that actually helps because they haven't announced a different date yet for a MoneyBomb so it seems like we should keep pushing the 17th and see what happens.

I know they won't fully co-operate, but I was wondering if anyone knew whether or not they have at least heard about this yet. I wasn't sure how that works.

I've contacted over 80 pro-Paul Facebook pages, hopefully they will share and have an impact.

Understood, no worries. :) When you dedicate a month of work to a theme only to have the campaign sort of adopt it is a bit maddening. Even if they would announce a theme a few weeks in advance we would rock it out for them! Your frustration is shared, but that's the tactics they have decided to implement, so here we are. Yes, that would be so much easier, and not conflict with any involvement between them and grassroots promoters. Yeah I didn't think they'd acknowledge or respond, but I've tried to make a few people at least aware of it if they happen to see it.

Sounds great. Yes, 13 days left, time to push even harder. I tried imagining what I could have done and how many more people I could have reached if I'd had 13 extra days on April 15th for In It To Win It, and then do that now.

And sadly, I'm doing everything at this point from a design, development, running the Facebook/event pages and have been really pushing to get more pledges/invites but nothing major has come from it. People wonder why the Moneybombs don't make money, when they wait until it's like 3 days before to start promoting.

I wouldn't know anything about how to help with the design or graphics or website, but let me know if you want help with the Facebook page and event.

I know that it seems like every MB thread goes nowhere and dies on there but I figured I'd try anyways. Seems like I've seen 100 "We need a money bomb" threads or "We should have a _____ themed money bomb, it should be in 3 days and bring in lots of money... somebody do it", but when you have something that's already set up and tell people how to help it's ignored.

We've actually really been picking up in the past few days, but this should go ever further in getting it out there. Plus, a lot of folks just don't like pledging, so this allows an easy one click button to "Like" the Facebook page. We now just need to get this on some Pro-Paul sites.

Seems like I've seen 100 "We need a money bomb" threads or "We should have a "_____" themed money bomb, it should be in 3 days and bring in lots of money... somebody do it", but when you have something that's already set up and tell people how to help it's ignored.

Exactly.

The widget does ask for people that pledge to share, by redirecting them after pledging to a page with share buttons.

Every little bit helps.

It has picked up for sure, I'm also seeing more people on Facebook share the link that comes up after you pledge on the website.

Yes, I would guess that people would be more likely to "like" a page than to even join the event. And I actually think "likes" may be better because every time you post as the page it shows up in their feed, which they can then share with their friends who can share with theirs and so on. Somehow I must've gotten lucky and posted the Romney NDAA ad at the right time on Ron Paul's wall and it's at 105 shares so far. That ad seems to have been the most popular.

I also added a link to the widget in the post I made on the Daily Paul, we'll see if that thread goes anywhere.

If they want to make 2 million in 24 hours they need a very good commercial. Like showing Rons crowds vs Mitts crowds and end with a line saying do republicans want to beat Obama in November? If they do not hit Mitt with polls/crowds the 1.5 million last month will go to under 1 million this month.

This could be an extremely important moneybomb, I know the forums have kept from email spamming its users (Which I appreciate), but now may be the time to pull out all the stops. Just an idea, but this moneybomb needs to spread.

Have you heard back from any websites or Facebook pages? I messaged a few pages but I didn't want to hurt by writing the same ones you did. I was thinking maybe for the stubborn ones, we could offer to let them upload the ads themselves so that when it get's shared it shows up that "Random Dude shared (their page's) photo" - giving them some exposure at the same time. As long as they include a link to the event or page or website.

I'll try one last time with this, if you're on the Daily Paul this Money Bomb thread could use some help before it fades away:

Remember that some people complained and said not to donate because it is not official campaign? Maybe it would be good idea to write that all donations are done at official campaign site or that we dont have anything with money or something like that.... I really wish for campaign to put moneybomb pledge or info on their site like they do on money bomb day.....That way we could.... ah nvm.

Yeah, I'd figure there's only a few days left to make sure this is big enough that the campaign knows about it and adopts it. If anyone from the campaign is reading this, please use the same theme.

Geez, I'd like to think that it's not intentional at least. I did see that Ron Paul Flix posted that he just realized people could send messages to his page and that he had never read the hundreds there. So maybe others are like that too. I guess at this point it can't really hurt so I'll send some out. I didn't want to offer to let them upload the image themselves though before asking you so since it's your work.

Yes, that is sad, I don't understand the lack of help by some pro-Paul sites/pages. I think I should just use the "if you don't have anything nice to say don't say anything" and stop there.

Good, I figured they must. And they haven't announced a different date for a Money Bomb yet so it's looking good there so far.

bump because Ron Paul needs money. Also, when it comes to replying to emails...I probably get 35 RP related emails a day. I only read those that are personal, something I didn't know before, etc. I rarely respond to anything mass mailed but I do take action if it's a worthy cause.

That's a good point, I'm sure a lot of the website and Facebook pages get flooded with emails so it would be easy to honestly miss them. Sent a few more - cross fingers.

I'm definitely no video expert, my first attempt was for InToWin and this was my second. The only reason I did it was because I was hoping a bunch of people would follow along and we'd flood YouTube.

Promotion is great and all but without a good commercial Paul might raise under 1 million this time down from 1.5. I have said many times Paul needs a commercial that shows his crowds vs Mitts or his poll numbers vs Mitts or both together in one ad. Then end the commercial with a question saying if Republicans want to beat Obama this November. This alone will get Paul to bring in 2mil in 24 hours with no problem. And this ad attacks Mitt on electabilty which is why 50% of the people are voting for him to start with. I don't ant to see an 11th ad about how Paul will cut a trillion year one.

I agree that would help, and I would love to see a commercial like that. The one I did I just tried to focus on NDAA, Patriot Act, TSA and especially lead off with CISPA because that was a trending topic and I was hoping it would bring in some new people.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3zsKxNVB6Fs

It's definitely not top quality though, I'm surprised I even finished the video with my old computer freezing every two minutes. So if you or anyone else has time to make up a quick video like that of crowds and polls there's still a few days left to promote it.
