National Republicans have begun to intervene in a handful of key Senate and House battlegrounds where state parties are in disarray, seeking to head off the possibility that local mismanagement could cost the party control of Congress.

The GOP presidential nominee will be impacted by the state party woes, but what especially worries Republican operatives are those states where there is no competition on top of the ticket but which feature a number of pivotal Senate and House contests.

These “orphan states,” most notably behemoths with traditionally weak parties like California, Illinois and New York, are increasingly the focus of top GOP officials in the nation’s capital this spring.

The Republican National Committee is going to set aside at least $10 to $15 million to aid states where there are competitive House and Senate races but minimal presidential action, a party official tells POLITICO. That’s enough to blunt the GOP’s financial disadvantage in several states, though not to erase the disparity or put the orphan-state groups on par with their swing-state counterparts.

Sarcasm Detection Malfunction!

I think a lot of people are very upset at their parties, and many are irate with BOTH Parties. Democratic Party is going to suffer the exact same problem as the GOP. As far as I am concerned, the party that is in control of both Republican and Democratic Parties are the Orphan Parties, which is extremely dangerous to allow them to "stay this course".

That article really says a lot of bad things about the various state Republican Parties. It is most negative about the MN GOP. As for the NH GOP, things aren't so bad, we have 3 paid staff plus to additional 2 paid staff via the NH House. The NH Democratic Party has around 8 paid staff. Of course, Obama is trying to win NH and already has 30 people working for him here. Mitt Romney has 0.5 of a person working for him and none of the other Republican presidential candidates have anyone working for them. If some billionaires don't get involved helping Ron Paul, it looks like Obama may win again, at least in NH, if Obama doesn't run the country into the ground before the election. I want a Republican to win and all but 30 Democrats to 0.5 Republicans in NH isn't a good sign and according to the article, the GOP is in worse shape in many states. Obama is better than all of the 30 Republican candidates combined when it comes to raising money.

I'll make a wager.

Romney will take NH.

Nah, scratch that.

NOBP will upend that.
