2012 Republican Presidential candidate Ron Paul attracted a peculiar 8,500-plus voters to the third of three town hall meetings he held in California this week, this time at UC-Berkeley.

InTradePro,

I was there but couldn't take it all in, it came off so fast. Thanks for filling in many of the missing pieces for me.

I liked his reference to Mario Savio at the beginning. He said he was delighted to be "in the hub of free speech." And adding "I can say anything I want tonight!!!"

Thanks anaconda for another piece of the puzzle. I never would have caught that if you hadn't of pointed it out and the firing up of the Googler.

Thanks for the Wikipedia link. Savio's speech sounds very libertarian. Too bad most of the 1960's youth somehow thought "anti-establishment" meant "anti-captialism" and somehow, erroneously, pro-socialism or pro-communism. Instead of "anti-fascism," "anti-corporatism," and "anti-big government." Reading about Reagan's and Edwin Meese's actions towards Berkeley in the 1960's made me ill and disgusted. Although studying at U.C. Berkeley might have been a tad challenging at that time, with all of the shit storm going on.

This isn't everyone. I was there. There was a whole huge group of people on a balcony to the right of the stage as well, most likely form where this photo was taken. It was AMAZING. And people were so NICE too.

Here's another higher quality full speech, one of RP's best imo. This one and the new one in the OP could be combined into a really good one by taking the best section(s) of audio, switching camera angles, etc.

Good interview of Dr Paul by Berkeley students (linked to in above video), kind of hard to hear at the beginning, but his last answer was excellent,

For those that missed or want to revisit, I just saw this version on Youtube with excellent sound quality and up close good quality video (sums up Ron's whole platform very succinctly):
