View Full Version : Vote up Ron Paul endorsing politicians

Let's reward the politicians that endorsed Ron Paul by voting them up! GoVote.com is a site where you rate elected officials.

These people put their neck on the line by supporting Ron Paul. Some of them like Sen. Rand Paul and state Sen. Jim Forsythe campaigned for Ron Paul in multiple states. Let's make a difference by giving something back to these politicians. Let it be known that the Ron Paul base has Ron Paul's back. It only takes a few minutes to vote up every single one of these fine folks. I am serious, you can do this in less than 15 minutes.

States are listed by how many elected officials in that state endorsed Ron Paul. To track our progress, I'll keep track of the rating of the first elected official listed for the 9 states with multiple endorsements. I'll try to post the progress every week here for a couple months. Then I'll contact those 9 people and show them what the Ron Paul diehards did for them. I'll show them that we truly thank them for endorsing Ron Paul. If anyone thinks I left out anyone featured on GoVote.com, please list the person below. If anyone wants to list honorable mentions (people like Sen. Mike Lee), feel free to list them below.

A lot of the highest rated politicians on GoVote.com are statists. We can change that! Thanks for voting :) Please just vote once per candidate. We are not trying to game the system.

Before Ron Paul exits politics, I think the C4L, or something should have an official website created to grade every single politician's "liberty purity". Sort of like how rotten tomatoes works with movies, if they get a 60% or higher, they can be stamped as "approved" to be voted for by anyone in the liberty movement. The larger our movement gets, the more politicans will care about their "[Ron Paul] liberty/purity rating". Thoughts?

The Republican Liberty Caucus used to do that for US Reps and US Senators. For some reason, the last year was 2009. It wasn't 100% accurate but it was a good approximation. http://www.rlc.org/liberty-index/

The New Hampshire Liberty Alliance has done it in New Hampshire since 2005, http://nhliberty.org/liberty_rating . The NHLA version is much more accurate than the RLC version. However, the NHLA version only covers NH state Senators and NH state Reps. 60% is way too low in my opinion and in the opinion of the NHLA, if you go by their ratings.

I agree there needs to be a list of libertarian issues & how they fair on each one of those & deciding the percentage based on that

Remember, most people vote for the same party most of the time, which means that only a small chunk of voters actually decide elections & now, our numbers are big enough to be that decisive voting-bloc that the parties must concede to, if they want to win :D

Cool thread. I went ahead and voted for every one once (although I may have accidentally doubled up on the first couple when I was messing with my NoScript and it didn't look like the votes were taking), and I affected the percentages on almost all of them. The vote counts are very low, so we could do some real damage here if everyone takes a few minutes.

I probably wouldn't strictly "approve" of most of these politicians if I really looked into each of them, since the vast majority of politicians have some kind of dealbreaker issue that they're totally authoritarian about. Still, anyone who openly supports Paul can't be that bad on the balance, relative to the others on the site...and they deserve SOMETHING in return for sticking their necks out...so yeah, I held my nose and voted blindly, and so should you! :p

There's only one Ron Paul so if we use him as the standard then we'll never get anywhere with liberty, even Rand Paul mightn't fit into that (& some liberty-minded folks already dislike him because he's not a clone of his father), that's been the problem of Libertarian Party too, people agree on 90% of the stuff but keep fighting over the 10% they don't

Excellent suggestion, we need a C4L approved list of Florida (all states) candidates so folks will know the good candidates from the incumbent bad guys.
