It's easy
1. Contact your state GOP
2. Contact your Secretary of State's office

You can google both.

Ask them the process for YOUR state

Become a delegate

In most states, that is true but not in all states.

how are delegates decided if there's more people that want to be and not enough slots?

It depends on the state.

it may be first come first serve if they are bound.

Or in Iowa they are elected.

Some states have Alternates essentially a VP for the Delegate if something would happen to him/her.

If it is so easy, then you should be able to find out the process and post it here, no?

I already did - for Connecticut. Started an entirely new thread on it.
I'm not researching YOUR state for you.
If you can't make two google searches and two phone calls then you obviously don't want to be a delegate.

This site is incredibly useful, much more clear-cut than the green papers.

1.) Select your state from the pull-down menu on the left hand side.

2.) Many states make a distinction between "at-large" delegates, and "congressional district" delegates. In almost all cases, "at-large" delegates are reserved for the state party leaders, chairman, etc. They are undeclared, there are only a few in each state, and it's understood that they will vote for the front runner.

3.) Everyone reading this site and thread will be looking at becoming a congressional district delegate.

4.) Look at the process for your state (next to the picture of your state), and that will clue you in on how to proceed. For example:

In CA, it simply says that the candidate needs to submit a slate of delegates before the primary. So in order to let the candidate know that you are interested in being a delegate, you'll need to contact the campaign and go from there.

In KS, it says "Congressional district delegates are elected at congressional district meetings, which occur at the state meeting." So you have to go find out when and where your state meeting is, and attend it to get elected as a delegate.

In DE, it says "Delegates are elected at the state convention." So you have to get in to the convention.

It varies drastically by state, so check it out.

Yes, you have to do a little bit of translation, but it's a piece of cake. Contact myself or someone else here if you want to be walked through the process for your state.

**If your state only sends undeclared delegates, then keep your support of Ron Paul QUIET!!!** RP is the last thing the GOP establishment wants, so you're going to have to convince people who are voting to pick the delegates that you're going to represent their interests at the convention, and convince them HARD that you're going to support the best interests of the party, whatever that takes.

If your state only sends undeclared delegates and you contact them telling them you've already decided that you're going to vote for Ron Paul, they'll say "Sorry, we don't have any spots open," or they'll just ignore you.
