They are semi advocating bioengineering humans to address climate change. I'm not sure they have to worry about human impact on the planet in the long term. It seems that the more time that goes by the closer we come to being too incredibily stupid to maintain the species.

This is what global warming alarmism gets you. It isn't concern for the environment. It's freaking irrational fanaticism.
It's believing that if we don't all practically go back to living in freakin' caves and be luddite primitivists, or else turn into statist socialists, then within 60 years the whole world's going to be destroyed by, (judging at least from the way they seem to go on), some sort of 'yon incoming radioactive lighting fire-tornados that will eat up all the poor little trees and stealing our womens.

It's bullcrap the level they go on. They need to calm the heck down a peg, and be a little more reasonable. Mutating people?

These geniuses could just figure out nuclear fusion energy, and solve all the darn environmental problems. Before they start suggesting to monkey with people's dna.

The concept of weeding out human tolerance for red meat comes off just plain idiotic to me.

Oh yes sure, in modern society where the little supervegans are easily capable of have a huge variety of multiple various nonmeat food sources so that they can replace the different nutrients that meat naturally serves the role in fulfilling, that idea might work.

As for me and my opinion however, I kind of like the idea that people have that option of eating meat and they can shove it suggesting to genetically cripple human beings from a trait that's largely helped to put us on top. Being able to eat most anything has it's benefits. That is a useful trait for mankind and we should keep it.

Their other suggestion, that we should trust them and all become oompa-loompas in order to save the environment is similarly ridiculous.

I don't trust these people to do much of anything, so I'm certainly not going to trust them with not getting shot trying to mess with the human genetic code.

If Ron Paul fails to get the nomination, I'm putting in my request for a oompa-loompa change-transformation procedure thingy.

What do you get when you nibble on shrooms, eating tofu and G.M.O. legumes?

I don't like the looks of it.

Wouldn't it be simpler to just not eat red meat in the first place?

Red meat is fine when it's once in a while, it gives you some protein and brightens your smile.

It would be simpler if THEY didn't eat meat in the first place, and quit trying to come up with solutions for non existent problems that would only create problems bigger that their imaginary ones.

The history of trying to create more perfect human beings has some seriously f'ed up shit in it.

Give me a double cheeseburger from Wendy's and it has the same effect. No science necessary, just ludicrous amounts of grease, bleeding through the bag and getting all over the passenger seat of your car.

:::contemplating this thread as I chew my cud....:::

I wonder if Moo-veOn.org is involved?

"Cows, which are ruminant animals, have only one stomach, but have four chambers/compartments:

The rumen is the first division of the stomach of a ruminant animal, in which most food collects immediately after being swallowed and from which it is later returned to the mouth as cud for thorough chewing. it is also called a paunch or a forestomach.

The Reticulum is the second compartment of the stomach of ruminant mammals, lined with a membrane having honeycombed ridges.

The Omasum is the third division of the stomach of a ruminant animal, located between the abomasum and the reticulum. It is also called manyplies.

The abomasum is the fourth compartment of the stomach in ruminant animals, which digestion takes place.

A ruminant is any hooved animal that digests its food in two steps, first by eating the raw material and regurgitating a semi-digested form known as cud, then eating the cud, a process called ruminating. Ruminants include cows, goats, sheep, camels, llamas, giraffes, bison, buffalos, deer, wildebeest, and antelope. The suborder Ruminantia includes all those except the camels and llamas, which are Tylopoda. Ruminants also share another anatomical feature in that they all have an even number of toes."

Well, there you have it. We just bio-engineer our stomachs to be like cows and our feet to be like hooves and problem solved.

No, wait a minute..........................
