Convict in halfway house escapes and head's to sister's house, which is under surviellance since his escape and is told by sister to not come around.
Cops witness fugitive at house, storm in, where they encounter two dogs, ten months old.
They open fire and expend over 15 rounds within the house, killing one dog, and hitting one of the cops in the leg.
OK - After more careful reading it seems they shot into the house from outside the back door.
Cops then turn the house upside down in their subsequent "search".

MINNEAPOLIS - A Minneapolis police officer is recovering after he was shot in the leg by a fellow officer, but the people who live at the home say they are furious that police opened fire in the first place, killing one of their dogs.
Officers were looking for an escaped sex offender at a home on the city's north side when they encountered two pit bulls. One dog was shot and killed, and the other was hit in the leg.
Officers contend that the dogs were approaching them aggressively, but the dogs' owners say that's simply not true -- and that's not the only fact the family and police disagree on.
The incident began at about 9:45 p.m. when officers learned that Roosevelt Montgomery, a 42-year-old Level 3 sex offender, had escaped his halfway house and had turned up at his sister's home even though she told FOX 9 News she had told him to stay away.
"I told Roosevelt, 'Do not come to my house,'" Leah Anderson told FOX 9 News.
Police were watching the home when Montgomery walked in, and officers went after him. The Andersons say that when Montgomery fled out the back door, their two 10-month-old pit bull puppies got out as well.
"My dogs didn't bark, didn't charge at them or anything," said Bobby Anderson.
Bobby Anderson told FOX 9 News that he was getting ready to pick up the puppies when police began shooting. He estimated about 15-20 rounds were fired at his pets.
At least three officers opened fire on the dogs as they ran out the back door. Police say they do not yet know if the bullet that struck the officer was a direct hit or a ricochet.
MPD officials say it was a chaotic scene, and they contend that two large pitbulls were approaching the officers aggressively.
"They are puppies," Bobby Anderson argued.
The loss of their pet isn't the family's only gripe, however. They say officers went far beyond just searching the home for a fugitive.
"They busted her fishtank, flipped her bed, threw her clothes everywhere," said Leah Anderson while showing FOX 9 cameras the damage.
Home video shows police and EMT crews surrounding the wounded officer, who is expected to recover. The Minneapolis Police Department's internal affairs division is investigation the shooting.
MPD officials say there was another person in the home who had an outstanding warrant for their arrest, and that person was taken into custody along with Montgomery, who is being held without bond.
