2012 Republican Presidential candidate Ron Paul will visit California this week for a three-day campaign tour. The 12-term Congressman from Texas will visit the Golden State from Tuesday, April 3rdto Thursday, the 5th for a series of town hall meetings, media appearances, and private fundraisers.

A major feature of Ron Paul’s California visit is sizable college campus town hall meetings that are free and open to students and the general public. One college campus town hall meeting will take place on each day of Dr. Paul’s visit, beginning with Cal State – Chico, then UCLA, and then UC – Berkeley. These events often attract large crowds, so the public are strongly encouraged to RSVP online using the information provided below.

Depends on the venue's capacity booked... Thursday night's UC Berkeley auditorium only holds 2,100... so that stop is a NO.

I'm supposed to be in Colorado with family.... :(

I started a whole campaign about how it just snowed last night in Mammoth, and Breckenridge snow is old and melting, but now it looks like it is about to snow in Breckenridge.....

I'm not giving up yet, but it is looking unlikely. This was planned a long time.

--edit

HA! Chance of RAIN today is up in Breckenridge and chance of snow tomorrow and the next day is decreasing! Ammunition! http://www.wunderground.com/cgi-bin/findweather/getForecast?query=zmw:80424.1.99999

Ron Paul, a Texas congressman and Republican presidential candidate, will speak at UC Berkeley next Thursday.
The campus town hall is being hosted by Students for Liberty and Youth for Ron Paul, according to a Facebook event (http://www.facebook.com/events/144067582386804/?notif_t=event_invite). It will be held in Zellerbach Hall and is open to the public.
Paul will mostly speak on his plan to “restore America,” specifically “balancing the budget by cutting $1 trillion in his first year and reducing spending even more thereafter” said Edward King, national youth director for Paul’s campaign, in an email.
According to King, Paul will speak for about 30 minutes, followed by a question and answer session with the audience if time permits.
Paul has seen strong support from college students, and his campaign is planning rallies at 30 campuses over two months, according to The New York Times (http://www.nytimes.com/2012/03/28/us/politics/in-ron-pauls-campaign-strength-and-weakness.htm). In recent Republican primaries, Paul finished third in Illinois and fourth in Mississippi and Alabama.

Staff writer Charlie Smith contributed to this report.

Only one event in the Bay Area?

He'd get a much better reception at SJSU than UCB, I think. Anyways, I'm waitlisted for Berkeley now.

Could have put it in the Cal basketball arena. Haas Pavillion. Seats 11,000+

I got this in regard to the UC Berkeley event:

If an early-seating voucher becomes available, you will be allowed to enter the venue before the general public on a first-come, first-served basis. Simply show up at least 30 to 60 minutes before the event begins. No further action is required.

I'll be there regardless.

this thread deserves a bump. these rallies in california are particularly important. those of us that work in the media know that if 5200 people show up in Wisconsin, the media could care less-but if anything happens in either new york or los angeles/ san francisco bay area...it will get much better coverage. these rallies have the potential to make headlines folks...lets get some BIG crowds up in there and get on some front pages.

also, Berkeley is interesting because it's die hard obama country...i believe the school alone is one of his largest campaign contributors. if ron has a huge showing there...it could really send a message about whats happening with the youth.

This man speaks the truth, even though I admit that the media might well end up ignoring any campaign evens Paul/Gingrich throw from this point on, regardless on how many people are there. We'll see.

Sorry, that bit was just for Gingrich- there was a bit of discussion about him before the last swing of Southern States, but really nothing since then (except the occasional odd 'when will he drop out' articles).

They sold out of tickets when I was telling everyone to go with me.

^This is the CA forum section about this event. We don't want people discouraged from going. Just show up! Will the campaign move it to a larger place if the waiting list is long enough, do they even know how long a list it is?

Definitely show up! The WI one wasn't moved until the day before or something. Plus, some people won't be able to make it who will have snatched up tickets so they wouldn't miss out.

Tickets were made available on Friday for the Berkley event (2,100 capacity) and now (Monday morning) it's already sold out and they are accepting waitlists. I really hope he moves it to a bigger venue!!

Do it at the greek.

that might be expensive since they usually do for pay concerts, but it isn't a half bad idea.

edit, I don't see a means for booking it at their website. I thought there might be since it is parks and rec now, I think.
