So I'm working night-shift trying to get in my clinical hours for nursing school, and I walk into the break room to eat my lunch at 2:00 AM, and I see this on the T.V.:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZiGHcfQAWDc

I mean, I hope this only comes on T.V. at 2:00 AM, because I worry about the majority of people who might be up during the day watching T.V., who might see this and actually *not* think it is just the most pathetic thing that they have ever seen. In other words, if Rachel Maddow says Social Security is working, then we can all just not worry about it being massively unsustainable. This commercial is as rediculous as it is obvious.

I threw my lunch in the trash and went back to work.

The thing about "leaning forward" is that you can only lean forward so far before you fall flat on your face.

EDIT: This commercial is probably old, but I did a search on the forums and didn't see anything. Keep in mind that I don't own a T.V. set so it's new to me. . . . and now I am reminded of why I don't own a T.V. set.

MSNBC's "Lean Forward" campaign is openly socialist. I haven't seen the Maddow one before but have seen other hosts in other videos with similar messages.

I was under the impression that they show these all the time as I only watch an online stream of MSNBC. There are no ads, just these lean forward bits from all their anchors.

By Lean Forward, they really mean Lean Left, which is actually Lean Backwards (away from liberty and freedom).

I always thought "Lean Forward" meant "Bend Over".

Then again she has a point as explained by stefbot (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O_KJ0HXu7D0) detailing how SS isn't a Ponzi scheme too...

SS is a wealth stealing pyramid scheme that destroys jobs and suppresses real take home pay. Since its inception, the liberal fascist pigs have increase the SS tax rate 600%. They have also constantly increase the age to qualify. It's completely broke yet it is working? Only a Leftist who cannot do basic math will have faith in such scam.

SS trust fund my ass!

Of course they don't. The second they came out with their new advertising campaign and graphics package in 2009 they openly acknowledged their progressivism. "Lean Forward".

When did they hire a 12 year old boy as a news anchor?

I saw one with O'Donnell singing the praises of that evil fascist SOB FDR and how his central planning worked and that it got us out of the First Great Depression. I can't find it for the life of me though.

By Lean Forward, they really mean Lean Left, which is actually Lean Backwards (away from liberty and freedom).

Maddow is a traitorous pig who carries the water of a dictator. She belongs in a jail cell

Sheldon Richman on What’s the Matter with Rachel Maddow (http://reason.com/archives/2011/11/18/whats-the-matter-with-rachel-maddow)
The MSNBC host champions bureaucratic power at the expense of regular people and their rights.

Progressives today say people should come before profits. How nice it would be if progressives were equally committed to putting people before bureaucracy. Take MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow. As Sheldon Richman observes, Maddow is intelligent, serious, and well-meaning—which makes her vision all the more unsettling. Why is she championing bureaucratic power at the expense of regular people and their rights?

Her MSNBC commercial inspired that piece.
