That's all we've been hearing---that it's the delegates that count. Yes, the caucuses and straw polls are important but it's really the delegates that count. At our caucus on Super Tues there were 46 who voted for RP (out of 130 votes) But then one week later we had our District convention and 4 people showed up. With 72 delegate seats at stake, do you want to guess how many delegate seats we filled? You got it. 4. Out of 72.

What do we do? Why isn't the message of delegates getting through to people?

We were organized in our district. Ron Paul got 75% of the delegates.

Not having people show up at a given meeting isn't good, need better on the ground organization in that instance and no mistake. However it's not indicative of the whole state of the race (just ask the people pushing the "Unity" slate because they are worried Paul will sweep even more areas locally).

As to how to get people to show up? Well having someone local step up and call supporters to make sure they know when and where the district meeting will take place. To coordinate with others so everyone has rides (riding together makes it even more likely everyone shows).
Also coordinating training/practice meeting before the district meeting so everyone is prepared and it stays at the forefront of their minds.

It's all about training. How many of those 46 were even aware there were district conventions? How many did you get confirmations from that they would attend?

If 46 confirmed to you they would show up, and you called all of them to confirm the night before.. there's not much you can do but find a better new group for next time by following this guide
