Just put together this email for 3 counties in northern Virginia, and plan to recruit over the next two years following this guideline for building the organizations:
http://www.leadershipinstitute.org/Resources/files/The_Life_of_the_Party.pdf

If your a member of a meetup, or have a listserve -- maybe this is something you want to research (if you want help looking into your bylaws to see what doing this will get you, PM me) and modify to send out for your area and begin recruiting for.. and if you don't already have a list -- begin building one using the techniques in the above pdf...

Please, join the Young Republicans(40 and younger), College Republicans, or Women Republicans!

These are social clubs that hold regular get togethers at restaurants, bars, fairs etc. and campaigning for the candidate(s) they support -- Things we are doing within our own group anyway.

Why is this critically important for everyone to do? We need to have a VOICE in the Republican Party. As you may have seen in many other states, such as IA, NV, ME, MO, CO, MN, among others -- Ron Paul Republicans are winning the delegates, and also chair, central committee, and other party positions to gain an influence(or a majority!) in the party -- in order to move their agenda of electing constitution following candidates to the various public office positions available.

We got started a little late on this process here in Virginia, but there is a way we can make up for NOW and also better prepare for 2014/2016. It is very possible we will become a majority, if just a few more of us became involved.

What can you do?

Join the Young Republicans(YR's), College Republicans(CR's), or Women Republicans auxiliary groups.

Why?

Each of these organizations elects one of its members to serve on the District Committee(among others) - which chooses how district candidates are nominated(such as congressional nominations), which local candidates the party supports via resources and volunteers, the rules governing participation in the conventions(fee requirements, filing requirements...), etc.

Taking over the leadership of these organizations can be very simple, if you participate. We are a youth based(40 and younger), grassroots movement, right?! We will simply be changing how we label ourselves when we meet up for social events and planning in the future.

When we take the leadership roles of the YR's and CR's, we will have 2 votes out of 7 on the District Committee. We will be half way to taking a majority.

How?
Visit the appropriate pages for your area, complete the membership form and pay the modest membership fee, and turn it in(with a few friends) at the next meeting for the organization you are joining(you must choose between YR's and CR's - you can't be a member of both)...

P.S.
If this all sounds great, but you can't participate for whatever reason, please consider sponsoring the yearly dues for other members.
Also, consider becoming a precinct committee member(email me and ask about this) -- requires attending one meeting a month and gives voting rights to set the party agenda at the county level, we need about 50 people per county to do this)

Getting involved at the local level is so valuable! As we all know the federal offices matter but sometimes it's overlooked how important the city, county, and state positions are as well. Thank you for being active and organized!
