What do you make of this? Is this mere diplomacy? Is he worried about appearing weak to the right during an election?

This guy is such a fraud!

It's all about his reelection. Every American that died in Afghanistan since he took office paid for Obama's reelection with their blood.

It's just like when he asked Israel to hold off on invading Iran until after November, or the end of the year. After the election he feels he can do whatever he wants for four years - and why not, that is pretty much how his first four years went.

I've been hearing this from a lot of Dems lately. As soon as he get's reelected he will legalize cannabis, end all the wars, fix the economy, stop bombing countries, and we'll all live happily ever after in Obamaland which is basically their version of Big Rock Candy Mountain (and yes I made that reference so I can post the song)

SEOUL, South Korea - At the tail end of his 90 minute meeting with Russian President Dmitri Medvedev Monday, President Obama said that he would have "more flexibility" to deal with controversial issues such as missile defense, but incoming Russian President Vladimir Putin needs to give him "space."
The exchange was picked up by microphones as reporters were let into the room for remarks by the two leaders.
The exchange:
President Obama: On all these issues, but particularly missile defense, this, this can be solved but it's important for him to give me space.
President Medvedev: Yeah, I understand. I understand your message about space. Space for you…
President Obama: This is my last election. After my election I have more flexibility.
President Medvedev: I understand. I will transmit this information to Vladimir.
When asked to explain what President Obama meant, deputy national security adviser for strategic communications Ben Rhodes told ABC News that there is room for the U.S. and Russia to reach an accommodation, but "there is a lot of rhetoric around this issue - there always is - in both countries.

A senior administration official tells ABC News: "this is a political year in which the Russians just had an election, we're about to have a presidential and congressional elections - this is not the kind of year in which we're going to resolve incredibly complicated issue like this. So there's an advantage to pulling back and letting the technical experts work on this as the president has been saying."

Open mic catches Obama asking Russian president for space on missile defense

Seoul, South Korea (CNN) - In a private conversation about the planned U.S.-led NATO missile defense system in Europe, President Barack Obama asked outgoing Russian President Dmitry Medvedev for space on the issue.

"This is my last election," Obama told Medvedev. "After my election I have more flexibility."

And Pro Romney comment? Thats New

Arcostonian

I am sorry Obama, but you will not be the President after 2012, Mitt Romney will be. And he will not be making deals with a leadership that uses fear and force to control it's people, resources, and freedom.

So what you make of this? and no i dont think Romney will win :(

Another fatal flaw of electoral politics. Important matters are derailed or unjustly/irrationally pushed during election cycles. IOW, pressure of keeping up appearances and politicking/strategerizing/calculating leads to irrational decisions.
