Mysterious booms have rattled the Wisconsin town of Clintonville for a fourth consecutive night, with local authorities preparing to bring in seismic technology to try and locate the cause of the booms, which have been described as sounding like underground fireworks, thunder, or someone slamming a heavy door.

With reports of residents hearing the boom starting on Sunday, more mysterious noises were heard in the town in the early hours of this morning. Clintonville police reported hearing the boom at 1:30am and 2:30am, while Fox 11 reporter Doug Higgins heard the sound at 5am this morning.

Curiosity has turned into paranoia as residents become increasingly insistent that local authorities solve the mystery, with some leaving town until the booms stop.

The fact that the sound has been described as coming from underground has led to theories that military activity or top secret below earth blasting may be responsible for the booms. Speculation has raged for decades about secret underground tunnels and even underground cities built by the U.S. government for clandestine purposes.

Thousands of people in the area have reported that the booms are accompanied by earthquake-like vibrations which have rattled homes.

Human activity may also be responsible for causing what appear to be seismic events. Changes in underground pressure caused by construction or mining have been known to cause earthquakes, notably in Switzerland in 2007 when the construction of a geothermal power plant caused an earthquake of magnitude 3.4 on the Richter scale.

Experts have also suggested that CO2 sequestration, which involves pumping CO2 into deep underground reservoirs, could also cause earthquakes. Given that geoengineering projects conducted in the name of preventing global warming are already taking place with little or no public oversight, could the source of Clintonville’s booms be related to a secret geoengineering program?

The High Frequency Active Auroral Research Program (HAARP), an ionospheric research program jointly funded by the US Air Force, the US Navy, the University of Alaska and DARPA, has also long been a focus of suspicion, with some claiming it is being used to experiment with seismic-triggering technology.

In his book Angels Don’t Play This HAARP, author Nick Begich summarizes the evidence that suggests HAARP is involved in weather control for nefarious purposes.

Scientists at NASA have also discovered “A close link between electrical disturbances on the edge of our atmosphere and impending quakes on the ground below,” which has led to claims that earthquakes are being artificially induced as a form of modern warfare and secret testing by HAARP.

Earthquake triggering technology was a matter of public debate 15 years ago, when in an April 1997 speech to the University of Georgia, Athens, then US Secretary of Defense William Cohen spoke of the threat of an “eco-type of terrorism whereby they can alter the climate, set off earthquakes, volcanoes remotely through the use of electromagnetic waves.”

“City officials say they have investigated every possible human cause. They checked water, sewer and gas lines, contacted the military about any exercises in the area, reviewed permits for mining explosives and inspected a dam next to City Hall. They even tested methane levels at the landfill in case the gas was spontaneously exploding,” reports the Associated Press.

During a public meeting last night, City administrator Lisa Kuss announced that $7,000 dollars is being spent to place seismometers around the city in an effort to locate the epicenter and depth of the booms. Kuss said the source is likely to be 200 meters underground but cautioned that “It’s possible we’ll never have a definitive answer.”

What Is Causing The Strange Noises In The Sky That Are Being Heard All Over The World?

The American Dream
Friday, March 23, 2012

During the second half of 2011, a lot of people all over the planet started reporting hearing really strange noises coming from the sky. In some instances the noises produced a loud rumbling such as a train, a thunderstorm or the slamming of a heavy door would make. In other instances, the noises sounded more like “groaning”. In yet other instances the noises sounded almost as if a trumpet was playing. Dozens of videos went up on YouTube purporting to document this phenomenon, but the truth is that you can fake almost anything on a YouTube video and many dismissed these strange “strange sounds” as an Internet hoax. However, now entire towns in the northern part of the United States are hearing strange noises in the sky and the mainstream media is reporting on it. In fact, one U.S. town is planning to spend thousands of dollars to hire an engineering firm to investigate where these strange sounds are coming from. At this point a lot of theories about these strange noises are being floated, but so far scientists have not been able to give us a definitive explanation for the source of these strange noises. So exactly what in the world is going on?

This phenomenon made national news again this week because of what has been going on in Clintonville, Wisconsin. Hundreds of residents of Clintonville reported hearing incredibly loud noises coming from the sky for several nights in a row. Even CBS News is reporting on what is happening in Clintonville….

Since Sunday, the residents have been disturbed by “booming” noises loud enough to wake them from their sleep.

Last night, hundreds of people attended a public meeting to get to the bottom of booms. But they aren’t any closer to the truth.

One resident told CBS News, “The last few days we’ve been having (a) booming shaking noise.”

Another resident said, “(For) a lot of people the house is rattling, you can feel the ground rattling, and it’s booming all the time. It’s kind of like, what’s going on? You don’t know what’s happening.”

So what is causing these noises that are so loud that even the ground is shaking?

According to Fox News, the town has investigated every possible explanation that they can think of for these strange noises….

City officials say they have investigated every possible human cause. They checked water, sewer and gas lines, contacted the military about any exercises in the area, reviewed permits for mining explosives and inspected a dam next to City Hall. They even tested methane levels at the landfill in case the gas was spontaneously exploding.

So far no explanation has been found. So Clintonville has decided to spend $7,000 to hire an engineering firm to investigate the cause of these strange noises.

According to geologists, the town does not sit on any fault lines and the ground beneath the town is very solid. Some geologists are claiming that “micro-quakes” could have been responsible, but others find this explanation to be very unsatisfying.

For many town residents, solving the mystery is not as important as getting these strange noises to stop so that they can get some sleep.

The following comes from the recent Fox News article mentioned above….

“My husband thought it was cool, but I don’t think so. This is not a joke,” said Jolene Van Beek, who awoke early Sunday to a loud boom that shook her house. “I don’t know what it is, but I just want it to stop.”

But Clintonville is not the only town in Wisconsin where strange sounds are being reported.

Mysterious noises are also being reported in a town called Montello which is 80 miles away from Clintonville.

Posted below is a local news report that discusses the strange noises that are being reported in Clintonville and Montello….

These strange sounds have made the mainstream news up in Canada as well.

Recently, strange noises caused such a violent shaking that they actually brought down a barn on Vancouver Island in British Columbia.

Geologists say that no earthquake occurred at the time that the barn collapsed.

So what caused the barn to collapse?

That is a very good question.

And this is not just a North American phenomenon.

If you go on to YouTube and you do a search for “strange sounds” or “strange noises” you will find dozens of videos from all over the world. Yes, there are definitely a few videos that appear to be hoaxes, but is that true with all of them?

The evidence for this phenomenon is mounting and it is getting really hard to deny that there really are large numbers people all over the globe that swear that they are hearing really strange sounds coming from the sky.

So exactly what in the world is going on?

Well, there are a lot of theories floating around on the Internet. The following are some of the most prominent theoriesabout what is causing these strange noises: electromagnetic noise, earthquakes, “fracking”, rock bursts, venting of high-pressure gas that has been trapped underground, meteor showers, HAARP or directed energy weapons, and some believe that all of this is just a giant publicity stunt.

Perhaps the biggest reason why these strange noises have so many people alarmed is because humans generally have a great fear of the unknown.

If the cause of these strange noises is revealed, the hysteria will die down.

But if these strange noises continue (or even become more intense) and there continues to be no scientific explanation for them, then the hysteria may turn into full-blown panic.

What is clear is that our planet is becoming increasingly unstable. As I have documented previously, earthquakes are becoming more frequent and more powerful. The “Ring of Fire” is becoming a lot more active and we have been seeing a disturbing amount of volcanic activity lately.

So could earth changes have anything to do with these strange noises?

We just don’t know at this point.

Most of the time when I write an article I like to have some answers. But I do not know what is causing these strange sounds.

So what do you think about these strange noises?

Do you believe that you know why they are happening?

Have you heard strange sounds coming from the sky where you live?

Residents Skeptical of ‘Mini-Quakes’ Explanation For Clintonville Booms

USGS says 1.5 earthquake hit town on Tuesday, but reports of booms came in over 24 hours beforehand

City officials claim the mystery of the Clintonville booms is solved with the US Geological Survey’s announcement that the town experienced a series of mini-earthquakes, but residents remain skeptical and probably with good reason – the 1.5 magnitude earthquake occurred over 24 hours after reports of the booms first started to flood in, noises which were also heard in a town 80 miles away.

The saga which has captured national attention began on Sunday night, when police received a deluge of reports about strange booming noises that were described as sounding like underground fireworks, thunder, or someone slamming a heavy door.

For the subsequent four nights the booms continued to be reported, albeit to a lesser extent, prompting a town hall meeting and a promise by local officials to find the cause of the strange noises.

The USGS subsequently announced that Clintonville had been hit by a 1.5 magnitude mini-earthquake on Tuesday at 12:15 a.m, in addition to a subsequent swarm of small earthquakes. The earthquake was not initially detected by the USGS and was only discovered after reports of mysterious booms in Clintonville had attracted national media coverage.

“Clintonville City Administrator Lisa Kuss told the community Thursday “the mystery is solved.” She says the rumbling can be explained by the micro earthquake that struck earlier this week,” reports Fox 11.

However, residents first heard the strange booms on Sunday night, over 24 hours before the first 1.5 earthquake struck.

In addition, the fact that the booms were also experienced 80 miles away by residents of Montello is inconsistent with the mini-quake explanation. Even people relatively close to the epicenter of such a minor earthquake would not feel it in most places, never mind anyone located over 120 kilometers away.

The fact that residents of Clintonville felt the booms whereas people in California experience similar quakes on a routine basis without feeling them at all was addressed by USGS physicist Paul Caruso, who said that “the rock in Wisconsin is very old and well consolidated.”

However, Caruso also stated that “the 1.5 magnitude quake would have likely only been felt within a few blocks around its epicenter,” which fails to explain why people 80 miles away in Montello also reported hearing the booms.

Caruso added that it was the smallest earthquake the USGS had ever recorded which anyone actually felt.

Some residents remain unconvinced by the mini-quake explanation and suspect a cover-up. City officials have said that seismic technology which would have helped locate the epicenter and cause of the booms will now likely not be used.

“This doesn’t happen here, something’s wrong and something’s amiss,” said Cheryl Binger, one of the several residents who isn’t buying the mini-quake theory, according to Fox 11.

Indeed, the Wisconsin Rapids Tribune reports that residents have been feeling the booms for months, noting that, “Several residents questioned the solution. After all, earlier that week they were told earthquakes had been ruled out as a potential cause of the sounds that shook them awake for several nights.”

The report also quotes University of Wisconsin-Madison geophysics professor Clifford Thurber, who casts doubt on the USGS’ explanation.

“If it turns out it’s coming from a mile or two deep, yeah, it’s small earthquakes,” Thurber said. But if the cause is determined to be only about 100 feet deep, then something else is happening, he said,” adding that more research needs to be conducted.
