Pressure not to diagnose PTSD at the U.S. Army and Department of Veterans Affairs

The U.S. Army allegedly pressured psychologists not to diagnose Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) to free the Army from providing long-term, expensive care for soldiers. The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) has also been implicated in pressuring staff to misdiagnose veterans with the aim of cutting costs.

The Real Reason Obama Is Escalating In Afghanistan

The real purpose of these 30,000 soldiers is to make Obama look tough as he heads toward the next U.S. presidential election.
December 8, 2009

The real goals of the Afghanistan escalation are domestic and electoral. Like Lyndon Johnson, who escalated in Vietnam, Obama lives in mortal fear of being called a wimp by Republicans.

To cover his flank and look tough in the next U.S. election, Obama is expanding the war in Afghanistan. To look strong in front of swing voters, he will sacrifice the lives of hundreds of U.S. soldiers, allow many more to be horribly maimed, waste a minimum of $30 billion in public money and in the process kill many thousands of Afghan civilians.

No he campaigned on the afgan war as being the good war. He actually thought he could pull of the same thing Bush did in Iraq with his surge. Afganiststan is a whole different country than Iraq.

No one knows for sure what Obama's motives are except Obama.

What I do know is the bloods on his hands now.

Pipelanistan. Nothing more, nothing less. We are not leaving Afghanistan, it's too important to TPTB.

There are recordings of LBJ specifically saying that he needed to send more troops to Vietnam otherwise the Republicans were going to hit him in the next election for being "soft on communism".

Wonder if GOP would add this to his impeachment papers if Obama impeachment bill got traction.

Not sure what exactly did Bush achieve in Iraq after spending trillions and almost 100K Americans killed/maimed or injured:

Bombings in Iraq kill 50, heighten security concern for planned Arab summit
Updated: 2012-03-21

BAGHDAD — Fifty people died and more than 200 were wounded Tuesday in Iraq in a series of bombings and small-arms attacks that heightened worries about the safety of Arab leaders scheduled to attend a summit meeting here March 29.
The attacks took place in seven of Iraq's 18 provinces, a reminder that three months after the last U.S. troops withdrew security remains a concern in much of the country.

He wanted to look "one party". The fundamental difference in both parties at this point is simply methods not goals.

president obama has just declared that one boy and one girl between the ages of 12 and 18 from each red state will now be selected by annual lottery to participate in a new reality program

I am not talking about the war in general, I am talking about the troop surge in 2007 when Iraq was going through an absolute civil war. Bush's surge DID cut that back extremely and that is what Obama was trying to do with his surge. You can go back and see the daily killing rate drop termendously. Afganistan is a different country and pouring more troops in didn't cut back on the killing as the killings are for different reasons.

That ^ and we have a total fail all the way around. The increase in troop strength Afghanistan was not enough to matter, and Obama is a wimp.

The "surge" there that calmed the insurgency after sustained bloodbath of years was more due to bribery and paying insurgents monthly salaries than a fighting/subdue surge, many soldiers were doing a lot of things other than fighting the insurgents then.

But I see your point. Pashtuns have a even stronger honor/badal/revenge code than Iraqis perhaps and there are other key differences between two theaters that Obama's masters and reelection advisors failed to see.

After watching rants like these, one starts to appreciate little medicinal value of Obama being in the White House.
