I agree with VM. Will have to watch again, when I have more time, more attentively and in full-screen version before making an in-depth review.

That was amazing. I've pulled an all nighter and it's 8pm now so I'm about to collapse and there was so much to process. I'll give it another view in the morning.

Thanks though, I really enjoyed it

Really cool! Along the same lines, but from a different POV:

Hope everyone can concentrate through to the last 3-4 minutes where the professor really ties all his points together.

Yeah, I didn't really know where he was going with it till the end. It went from quasi-boring to super-badass.

We know that we need the Fed because we know we need the Fed, and we've entirely blocked out the fact that the Fed is morally wrong in favor of the technical aspects of control over the economy.

Awesome video. I agree, a lot to think about (hopefully, with my right hemisphere) :p

So, the frontal lobe of the left hemisphere has grown, which means we're doing more with our left hemisphere than before, since the frontal lobe of the left hemisphere is inhibiting the whole of the right hemisphere? I'm trying to tie in his point about the brain being asymmetric into the broader context of the video (in other words, I'm trying to construct the "why").

Very intersting. It contradicts a lot of what i'm learning in neuroanatomy / neurophys right now.

Modern evolutionary psychology is a quite dynamic and exciting field of research, most of our evolutionary history during which we acquired large brains happened under very different circumstances that what is considered normal today.

All the violent behavior and even evil stuff that people currently do to each other is rooted in behavior that very well have been adaptive and what was needed to survive in a world where getting eaten by monsters was a near certain outcome to life.

We can walk our road together, if our goals are all the same.
We can run alone and free if we pursue a different aim.
Let the truth of love be lighted, let the love of truth shine clear.
Sensitivity, armed with sense and liberty,
with the heart and mind united in a single, perfect sphere.

On a related note, here is an absolutely fascinating account of a Neuroanatomist who had a stroke in the left hemisphere of her brain. It's so worth the 20 minutes of time to listen/watch.

How it feels to have a stroke

I'm at a slight disadvantage here, having only one functional brain-cell that survived the 60's-70's.....
