Obama does not seem very popular among troops, some apparently willing to risk their careers to speak out against his policies:

Marine faces boot for anti-Obama Facebook posts
By JULIE WATSON, Associated Press – 2 hours ago

SAN DIEGO (AP) — A Marine sergeant who started a Facebook group that is openly critical of President Barack Obama and posted comments saying he will not follow the unlawful orders of the commander in chief is facing possible dismissal from the Corps.

The Marines on Wednesday told Sgt. Gary Stein — a Camp Pendleton Marine who started the Facebook page called Armed Forces Tea Party — that he is in violation of Pentagon policy barring troops from political activities.

Stein, a nine-year member of the Corps, said he started the page to encourage fellow service members to exercise their free speech rights. He has also criticized Defense Secretary Leon Panetta for his comments on Syria.

If you don't think he's popular then you have forgotten about all the millions of dollars they sent him for the 2008 general election....and all the millions of dollars they will be sending him for the upcoming 2012 general election.

Military Coup Could Oust Obama.

John L. Perry has courted controversy by suggesting that the U.S. Military, upholding their oath to defend the Constitution against domestic enemies, could stage a bloodless coup to oust President Obama.

In an article originally posted on the Newsmax website, Perry wrote, “There is a remote, although gaining, possibility America’s military will intervene as a last resort to resolve the “Obama problem.” Don’t dismiss it as unrealistic.”

The article outlines how military officers, outraged at Obama’s “trampling” on the Constitution, nationalization of American institutions, rising deficits, unemployment and taxes, could peaceably seize power from the “radical-left commissars” of the Obama administration.

Perry warns that America could be unrecognizable by 2012, prompting a coup to “restore and defend the Constitution,” a prospect that is “weighing heavily on the intellect and conscience of America’s military leadership,” he writes.

As long as they just do the killings and keep their mouths shut, it's apolitical patriotism.

If some soldiers kill some locals in an occupied country and then unrinates on their dead bodies, that probably would be a political expression.

It is interesting and bit ironic that "those who fight for our freedoms " have somewhat less freedom of speech than "those whose freedoms they fight for".

So lesson here is that if your freedom of speech is your top priority, let someone else fight for it?
