The following comments are from a comment board on Fox Nation, over a story regarding a painting depicting Obama burning the Constitution.
These first ones are our classic neocon responses, to my comments. I won't post my comments, but I was simply making basic constitutional arguments regarding the wars and how Bush and Obama are no different. One guy called me a troll for saying this started under Bush when he said the Constitution was a "piece of paper." They have completely lost it:

-"Yes, and CONGRESS gave Bush the approval for intervention in BOTH afghanistan and iraq!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Really, the founders would have laughed.......You better go back and read a history book or two!!!!!!!! You may also, want to take some constitution classes on what it means"

-"We wouldn't think of resorting to name calling...your Socialist party is an expert on that. BOZO"

-"Undeclared wars"....now let me see....Congress is the only body able to Declare War and it was a Democrat House and Senate.....so they could have cut off the funds if they didn't go along with the action....and they did not....and of course, he did have Congressional approval....so how does that make President Bush violate the constitution? As for the Patroit Act, it was passed by a Democrat House and Senate....and signed by the President into law. It has never been overturned by the Supreme Court....so it at the time President Bush left office, Constitutional.....so how is that "burning the Constitution"?

I'm not name calling, just providing facts and asking questions?"

-"Granted Bush did some constitution burning as all president have in modern history. But, Obama has nullified it completely.

The last declared war was WWII. We do not have to declare war to take pre-emptive action. Bush received congressional approval for both. Get over it! Obama did not for Libya. "

It also got into people saying I need to take Constitution classes and that the president, being "Commander-in-Chief" should be able to move troops how he pleases. One person also got into petty specifics stating that it says "Congress shall..."

I won't post my comments simply because I don't want to. It'll be pretty easy to see my username if you want to go to the story and read the comments first hand:

I'm not even going to address the factual inaccuracies. It would take too long. You have more patience than I do. That's for sure.

Eh, I don't know about the patience part.

I get so mad, that's partly why I quit going onto Fox sites because the people there repeat, verbatim, what Beck, Levin, Hannity, etc. say.

It's like talking to a brick wall. Nothing will be accomplished.

Okie, Bush never made that toilet paper comment. It came from a blogger. He admitted it later, but not until after it had been spread across kingdom come.

I hope you informed that one guy that no, the Constitution cannot be overruled by passing a law. The only way is through amending the Constitution.

No kidding? You sure he never said something like "don't let that piece of paper get in my way" after 9/11?

Nope, it was a completely made up comment.

Update, Feb. 21, 2011: The author of the Capitol Hill Blue story has now withdrawn it. Doug Thompson messaged us to say:

Doug Thompson: This is to let you know that the piece on Bush and the Constitution has been changed and reads:

"This article was based on sources that we thought, at the time, were reliable. We have since discovered reasons to doubt their veracity. For that reason, this article has been removed from our database."

I no longer stand behind that article or its conclusions and have said so in answers to several recent queries. In addition, I have asked that it be removed from a documentary film.

Thank you both for correcting me. I did a little bit of looking around, and there doesn't seem to be anything credible behind it. So, again, thanks. +rep to both of you.

No problem. Now back to your OP. I'm with you in spirit; BUT Obama has been MUCH worse than Bush.
My favorite quote to cite is Henry Hyde's (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Henry_Hyde)

When Dr. Paul requested a declaration of war against Iraq and he said,

"There are things in the Constitution that have been overtaken by events, by time. Declaration of war is one of them. There are things no longer relevant to a modern society. Why declare war if you don’t have to? We are saying to the President, use your judgment. So, to demand that we declare war is to strengthen something to death. You have got a hammerlock on this situation, and it is not called for. Inappropriate, anachronistic, it isn’t done anymore."

And that is by the Republican Chair of the House International Relations Committee. It is pretty damning.

Obama is worse, no doubt. When I say they are the same, I mean that they both grew government astronomically along with starting and continuing undeclared wars.

But, Obama, he takes the cake.
