At the risk of annoying supporters of Rep. Ron Paul, R-Texas, who believe — and argue fervently — that the mainstream news media don't pay attention to their candidate, it must be noted that Twitter and Facebook don't, either.
Accusations that news organizations are ignoring Paul's presidential campaign are an organizing principle of his supporters, who take to Facebook and Twitter to complain that the only reason Paul isn't leading is a "media blackout."

Since the beginning of the year, Paul and his campaign have been mentioned about 1.1 million times on Twitter or Facebook:

The top line quantifies total mentions of Ron Paul on Twitter and Facebook since Jan. 1. The shaded blue are counts those that specifically take a position on him.
Here's the problem: Over the same time, more than 3.7 million posts have mentioned former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney:

More than 2.2 million have mentioned former House Speaker Newt Gingrich of Georgia:

And more than 1.9 million have mentioned former Rick Santorum of Pennsylvania:

Um, if he's not mentioned much in the media he won't be mentioned as much on Facebook. It's not like both platforms operate in some sort of vacuum. Human beings use Facebook; human beings that are (unfortunately) heavily influenced by the 'media'.

The fascist propaganda-purveyors are really trying to make it personal lately, huh?

I'm sure a lot of those comments were negative. Not sure how that is relevant.

Ron Paul has more facebook likes than any Republican candidate except for Mitt Romney.

To the media, facts are subjective and easily ignored when inconvenient.

In any event, it's true that Ron is disappearing on the national stage and we don't have a nominee yet...

Reporters just love writing slam pieces to make themselves feel better. They are not even controlled by the corporate elite, they just do it for personal reasons.

People sicken me.

"Shhhh ... be quiet maybe he will go away."

This is this the new meme of our corporate sell out media.

For all of you fond of quoting Gandhi ... you are ahead of yourselves the controllers have just begun to try and "ignore' Ron Paul.

The media realized that debates, no matter how much they manipulate them, give the people a direct impression of the candidates. Ron Paul's support increases with debates, people like Santorum lose support with debates. Debates have been curtailed so that the media can control the spin 100%, instead of 90% control when debates occur.

Idiot media, to bad the media, cops and powers up top don't realize that we are ALL going down (if and when we go down) I'm starting to think the media are cyborgs, not humans. No human could hear what RP says and think "gee my life would be much worse with freedom"

Ron's rallies are getting bigger and bigger....the problem is he is only having a rally every two weeks now!!!

No Money equals No Campaign......and even here on the RP Forums the March 23rd Money Bomb is not even being advertised on the front page. The reality is the Campaign is shrinking, not because of Facebook, but because of no $$$$$$.
