View Full Version : How effective is flying a banner?

How effective is flying a banner before a football game?

What should the banner say? I have 45 spaces for letters (and spaces).

I have to make this decision by tomorrow.

I will be the only one paying for this as I haven't been able to get local support to help me out in the past few days. So I want to make sure it is worth the cash cause i'm just a poor college student and i've already given $525 to the campaign.

I would say something like:

Ron Paul the Champion of the Constitution

Or:

RON PAUL: NO IRAQ WAR NO DRUG WAR

I think those planes with the lights that pixelate the messages are 10x more effective and way cooler.

Very effective. When I was in college, everyone read all of them as they flew over. You will have a captive audience of 50,000 or however many are there....

This is good:

RON PAUL FOR PRESIDENT: PEACE AND LIBERTY

or PEACE AND FREEDOM, if you prefer.

First post? Welcome to the show. You're a great American.

What should the banner say? What game is this? Who is your audience? The message might be different depending upon whether you are targeting the crowd at an SEC game vs. a Big Ten game vs. a Pac Ten game.

With any brief message people are either going to remain lost and without context, or they are going to ask around/look it up online. With that said you might as well say RON PAUL 2008 or VOTE RON PAUL or RON PAUL WINS.

My 2 cents.

I like the sign I heard about last weekend. It said: "Vote Ron Paul - Everyone Wins!"

Or, you could go with the classic: "Google Ron Paul - Hope For America"

Both of these have nice hooks that make people want to learn more.

In my opinion, the "Google Ron Paul" language has been effective at connecting with people who don't know who he is. (Which represents about 70-80 percent of the people out there.)

I would recommend against using the "champion of the constitution" or teaparty07 stuff since you already have to know a bit about Dr. Paul for those to make complete sense. And most people won't, yet. :)

This works well. Most people in this country are in need of something to inspire them. They think the future looks pretty bleak.

Make sure you do what the guys up in Michigan did and have lots of Ron Paul people on the ground. Get one of those long polls with Ron Paul signs at the top and move through the crowd. Set up a tail gate Ron Paul hand out point or something.

We've probably flown more than any other group in the campaign and trust me they are effective! Not only to very many people read these tings at games, but they have the bonus effect of energizing Ron Paul supporters. Nothing says we're a force like an airplane banner, at least not for the price. If you need help with the money, you should setup a chipin and post it here and to the local meetup groups.

Is the game at Vandy or at Tennesee? There's one heck of a lot of people who show up for those Tennesee games but I'd imagine that many Vandy fans would come see this game as well. If you go through with this, PLEASE take same video footage of it. We're still making a video of Ron Paul at football games across America the more games we have the bigger the impact will be. I don't care if you can only shoot it with a cell-phone recorder, anything is better than nothing.

Guys I regret to say that because of my newness to all of this (Ron Paul forums, Meet up groups, etc..) I was unable to get the funds together from my local group in time. The pilot said he needed the payment by today and I didn't have it.

How do I set up a chip in? I might could call him in the morning and update him to say I have more people willing to help pay.

Please email me at jefferwat(at)gmail(dot)com as I'm not on the forums much. Thanks a lot.

I would say something like:

Ron Paul the Champion of the Constitution

I'm not sure references to the Constitution will be very helpful with the average American/sports fan.

Most Americans have only the vaguest notion of what the Constitution is ("uhh, yeah, thats why we have the 4th of July, right?", and probably less than 20% know anything about it other than a few parts of the Bill of Rights.
