Ron was born and raised in PA. Maybe the campaign should play that up a little.

Yes. However, PA was the highest percentage of any primary state. There were states before with primaries and the same head to head, and states after with primaries and the same head to head, and in all cases, Ron Paul did worse in that state than PA. Yes, it's not right to put that target of 16 or 18 or whatever it was and assume that we'll do better, but, in 2008, Ron Paul had his best primary in PA. I was there then. My region did best of PA. The Lehigh Valley to South Central came in around 20-25%. A lot of rock bands supported Ron Paul, had big shows in big, legit venues, that might've had something to do with it. This part of PA was more Ron Paul than Obama with the youth. I had pretty much lost interest by the time McCain clinched the nomination, but we did well nonetheless.

Nope. Ron Paul received 24% of the vote in Idaho in 2008.

The state as a whole did, yes. Not the Republican primary electorate.

Huckabee was on the ballot too and got a lot of votes.

My county went 25% for RP.

Idaho was a primary in 08?

Checked - yes it was. Yeah, Idaho Primary.

And I would think that Idaho would be very favorable Paul territory, especially without Romney on the ballot.

Texas Congressman Ron Paul finished second with 24 percent of the vote, which was by far his best showing in a primary state...

Why? People not engaged in politics just know he's for God and used to be our Governor. They don't know what a crook he was.

It's also the state that re-elected one of the most corrupt Governors in Pennsylvania in the name of Gov. Swindell. (Rendell)

Looks like you fall into that same group of not being engaged. He was never our Governor.

Definitely true that Idaho was a primary and he did best there. It "was" true for about a month that PA was tops, and I think I wasn't paying close attention in late May or since. Didn't realize that Idaho was a primary that surpassed PA. That's kinda a good thing, as PA just isn't the type of state to be great great supporters of Ron Paul. PA isn't Libertarian land. I would think that there would be a libertarian land, and that Ron Paul should do well there.
PA was more general GOTV than anything else. Santorum really should win PA, logically. Gingrich is also from PA. Harrisburg area. 3 of 4 candidates lived in PA.

Santorum will likely win the straw poll. I imagine Paul will get about 5 to 10 delegates, and the rest of the delegates will vote for whoever the RNC tells them to vote for (Romney).

I misspoke. Big difference. I've been a Paul supporter since the late 80's. I'm fully engaged.

The 37% who haven't heard enough should get their asses off the couch and go to a damn library and look up RON PAUL. At the meantime go look up Paul vs Obama.

And it seems that the idiots who vote for Santorum and Romney are jut holding their noses because of those pathetic favorability ratings. It's time to play the 'Santorum had the biggest lost in senate history by an incumbent senator' card. These people like Paul, but can't seem to get over the fact that they don't need to 'play along' with the voting trend.

Not surprising at all if you know this area. The rural and suburban areas of western PA are particularly fond of Santorum. There is a large number of senior citizens in this area who have had their political views shaped by the nightly news.

Bite your tongue! Ron doesn't pander to no one! Not even if it would help him win.

Lebanon City - Lebanon County Pennsylvania will do better than 2008. Since 2008, I've only stopped campaigning about 90 days every where I go.

I'm working my designated polling area again too. I'll need more campaign materials and signs, so if anyone can contribute, I say please and thank you.

I can do the sign placements around the county again, I asked permission at the stores, pop shops and PD .. I just need the signs !!! In 2008 it took about 100 signs to mark every enter and exit of my city .. and the town officials allowed them to stay for 4 days over Easter weekend .. so please, if you can ... I need signs !!!

So was Gingrich and Santorum, sadly.
