The Boone County Republican Party elected new leadership Saturday, many who have been active in the tea party.
Attorney Rick Brueggemann, of Union, will serve as chairman of the party, succeeding Pat O’Reagan.
Brueggemann ran unsuccessfully in 2010 for district judge and has served as a board member of the Bluegrass Institute of Public Policy Solutions, co-founded the League of Kentucky Property Owners and is a founding member of the Federalist Society’s chapter at Salmon P. Chase College of Law.
Phyllis Sparks, of Walton, will serve as vice chairwoman. She works as the Boone County chairwoman for Thomas Massie’s campaign.
The founder of the Grassroots Tea Party of Boone County, Emily Shelton, of Burlington, was named secretary.
Melanie Morris, of Union, will be the treasurer. The youth chair will be Brett Gaspard, of Walton. Gaspard has worked as spokesperson for Take Back Kentucky, the League of Kentucky Property Owners and Kentucky Taxpayers United, a group started by U.S. Sen. Rand Paul.

And Boone County is the county Gary Moore is Judge Executive of, lol!
