Paul garners the least support from the GOP out of all the candidates, but does best when it comes to Independents:
One difference between the GOP hopefuls in these matchups is their support among voters in their own party. Romney earns 78% support from Republican voters, while Santorum picks up 71%. Gingrich attracts 70% of GOP voters and Paul 66%. Paul currently does best of the four among voters not affiliated with either of the major political parties. The president runs strongest within his party when Gingrich is his opponent.
