It's obviously based on Waco and Fred Phelps, but it ends with the federal government bragging about how they believe in Jesus but don't care about killing religious fundamentalists because they're "animals" and "terrorists". I highly recommend it for all conspiracy theorists and those sympathetic to the sovereignty movement.

IIRC, weren't the religious fundamentalists in this movie capturing and killing innocent people?
To me, this movie didn't say anything important about any issues at all. The whole situation was morally, ethically, spiritually, and legally/politically bankrupt on all sides.
Not worth the watch.

yeah the message was heavy handed and poorly executed. some of the themes were interesting and the shift from horror/suspense into political/fundamentalist commentary was original...but i thought it was clumsy. and john goodman acting was wayyyy over the top. also the ending was a little too convenient and abrupt. kevin smith has gotten away with being over rated and mediocre at best for a very long time.

Saw it,
Does it's best to paint Christians and Survivalists as wacko's. Based no doubt on the worst type of charlatans.
The government response is a bit troubling though. Worth watching just for that aspect.

If you consider that movie "must see", then you have a really low bar for "must see" movies.

I watched this a couple of months back... I have been sad ever since knowing I will never have those two hours back.

No, they were not. They were kidnapping and killing homosexuals, adulterers, fornicators and the like, hardly innocent people from their standpoint. The quote from the movie was something to the effect of "the Bible condemns killing of people, but nobody condemns curing of a disease or killing of a germ". It's morally and politically bankrupt to warn people about the evils of our federal government?

I agree they portrayed the people they dislike as wackos, but the part of government response is what makes it good.
